View Full Version : My rudimentary action video
Two days of Windows Movie Making later and I've compiled a 2 and a half minute video. It's actually my second attempt at moving images rather than still ones. The images were captured either by Capture Pad ( before it started continuously crashing :mad: ), or with FMV sequences which I learned how to get working with Movie Maker thanks to Nicky. It was ony after I'd finished that I realised that were many images that I think would have suited the video better. And I was disappointed not to be able to get any TR 2 or TR 3 FMVs. So it's just a straightforward attempt at an "action" video accompanied by music. I didn't know how to add any effects (or even if I can with my version of Movie Maker) You'll think I'm crazy for the choice of music but I thoght I'd go for it anyway!
about 4.8 MB Zip file
And it's not meant to be overly serious either ! ;)

Wow, you improve yur self a lot! the video it's great! That swiming outfit Ah!! i love it! and those Venice's levels http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
great job Celephais
Thanks! I just finished antoher one, with some of the same footage as the last one , but with some new footage too, and a different soundtrack. (I'd like to add a bit more of my own imagery but to be honest capturing images using video capture software is a lot of work!) It's a symphonc score again I'm afraid, but that's just my preference. It seems that rock music soundtracks are popular with Tomb Raider videos now, but to be honest I'm so uncool my CD collection is full of "dinosaur rock" like Iron Maiden , Motorhead Deep Purple ,and Queen. And as much as I like them I can't really imagine many of those songs going well with Tomb Raider imagery. ;)
(edits post- I'll do some more work on it before I upload it ;) )
I don't think I'll be able to add any special effects to the movies though, since the Movie Maker updates are only for XP. I did give a bit of thought to the music and images complementing each other too ie when the music is quiet I didn't use any "action" images. (Don't you see the genius!) ;)

It could be an "dinosaur rock music" but you have great stuff there ;)
Waiting for you new work http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
A new video of my own video captured footage combined with some downloaded footage, set to another piece of different James Bond music;
I re-used some footage from the last time. I think it's spoiled a bit by some jerky and slow video captuere footage but there's not much I can do about that. I also think that's it about as far as I can go using Window Movie Maker; simply splicing together video footage and adding music. I'd love to add spcial effects and be able to use a zoom function in some clips but the Movie Maker I have doesn't have those features.
