THE five children of tragic Karen Russon left a poignant message yesterday for their mum who died while retrieving their Christmas presents from the loft.
Devastated neighbours and family members also left messages outside the terraced house in West Bromwich, West Mids.
Karen, 24, is believed to have hit her head on a roof beam and fallen through the loft's trap door to her death. Her parents yesterday released a photo of their daughter taken at a family party a few weeks before she died.
The children were watching TV eating cereal when a neighbor knocked.
Elise said to her: "You can't speak to mum. She's dead." The woman found Karen lying upstairs and alerted police. Police say there are no suspicious circumstances. An inquest is due open later this week.
I heard about this. It's tragic. Things like this only happen on days like Christmas day. :(
That's sad... and odd. The children's reaction, I mean. They probably didn't realize what the situation really meant. How old were they, anyway?

That is very sad indeed. :( This is something these children will be reminded of every Christmas for the rest of their lives. Christmas is supposed to be a happy time. :(

I actually wonder if this is true, and not some newspaper sensationalising the story.

Awww... I don't like to think about things like this...
It makes you sad and you feel moved to act and yet there's nothing you can do.

I've actually been thinking a lot about this. And I reckon the sensational part of this story is bull****. Which newspaper did this come from? No child would say such a thing. They would immediately go for help.
That's a very good point, tlr. If my mother died on christmas day I'd probably feel a little bit extremely upset.
