More heavy snow is predicted for parts of England as motorists are warned to take care with ice set to cover the UK. On Tuesday, parts of Kent saw the most snow - up to 12cm deep - as temperatures reached close to freezing in eastern parts, including London.

The severe weather forced the Channel Tunnel to close, while the London-bound carriageway of the M20 was shut at junction 13. Overnight temperatures were expected to reach -5C (23F).

Isn't now your Summer? It's so cold here I can see steam when I breathe, and I have all the heaters on. :(

My poor Madeline is not impressed.

Its been snowing terrible here! It started a few hours ago but its stopped now.

I sat on the windowsill in my room wrapped in my leopard-print blanket, when I came in I looked like an arctic Lynx!:cln:

I just bought an electric blanket and it's the best sleep I've had since the extreme cold rolled in.:)

I wish we could've had at least SOME snow for Christmas here! We got one or two weeks of cold back in late november or early december. Then about a week before Christmas it all melted and it went back to late summer or early fall temperatures (with only small patches of snow/ice left).

In fact, I think it was about 14 degrees celcius on Christmas day.

My dogs aren't impressed either. All lying flat out and panting,

Only -5C ?
In Estonia we have about 40cm of snow everywhere and the overnight temperature goes down to -20C sometimes. On daytime it stays between -8C and -14C.
So I would be happy with -5C sometimes (not always :D )

I wish there is some snow here in Croatia. It's so unbelievable warm that I almost went out this morning wearing a T-shirt. Honestly.

It's part of the Great British Tradition to Panic when we Get Snow. Heavy Snow is classed as Any Snow At All. I'm not saying I'm a cynical so-and-so, but we are so ill-equiped to deal with bad weather in this country that what other places would brush off as insignificant makes our country grind to a halt. I love the snow though! :jmp:

Outside my window right now is about (at deepest) fifteen centimetres or six inches of snow. This is the most we've had in this part of Nottinghamshire for several years. If it remains here for more than a couple of days that'll be another record broken  .

No you wouldn't Laramaster. I got home just after 10pm and it was still 27c. I think the house is around 10 degrees hotter. There is not a breath of breeze. When it's like this it's hard to breathe. They tell us it will be hotter for the weekend. It would be ok if i could afford air conditioning, but all I have is a fan, and thats on full bore and not doing a damn thing except move hot air around.

We never get any snow. :( It's frosty and misty, had a very cold crisp Christmas, but no snow. This year we've had one snowfall, and it didn't even lie.
