Lots and lots and lots of amazing photos taken inside old abandoned institutional buildings (hospitals, insane asylums, prisons, etc) and power plants. Might not be any golden treasures waiting to be raided, but certainly the locations make it worthwhile.

I just spent about an hour browsing through the photos. Some are really moving, others disturbing, but the atmosphere that's been captured is astonishing. See how long it takes you to get lost within those crumbling, peeling corridors and dusty halls.

Just think of the secrets some of these places hold. Probably tales of horror beyond even our imagination.

Wow. That's weird how its very scary, depressing and dark but beautiful in a sense. I would love to raid that. (I know, I'm weird) It is kinda reminiscent of SAW. Imagine if these walls could talk.

A great link you found Geck :wve:
Many pictures remind me of horror movies. I just saw a film about a man who kidnapped small children and then kept them with him. If the girls didn't stay quiet, he killed them. He was a mentally ill person who had escaped from a psychiatric hospital which looked just like the ones on the site...pretty creepy :yik:

Fourballs: What was the title of the movie. I'm curious. That "bunny" drawing on the wall disturbs me. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c85/psycochick65/0000003679.jpg

Brr... it's more than a disturbing! Nevertheless that place would be perfect for any kind of psy/horror movie or at least as a reference for the games like Silent Hill hehe.

Second last level of Thief 3 is set in an abandoned insane asylum. The result was terrifying, and the similarity between the level design and these photos is really startling...

My favourite out of the list has to be the Gravesend Asylum photos. Even the name alone is creepy. Gravesend.

I believe it was "In Dreams".
Annette Bening played the mother who also went crazy after her daughter was kidnapped. And Robert Downey Jr. played the evil guy who escaped from the hospital...

Thanks for the link, Geck-o-Lizard. The photographs are beautiful - sad and a bit creepy, but the atmosphere is captivating.

Nice bunny, too, though it looks more than a little mad...
