Mine would be "Heathers".

Amazon.com Description:
This dark comedy from 1989 was a good showcase for Winona Ryder, playing a high school girl brought into a clique of *****y classmates (all named Heather), and Christian Slater, doing his early Jack Nicholson thing. While Ryder's character muddles over the consequences of giving up one set of friends for another, her association with a new boy (Slater) in school turns out to have deadly consequences. Director Michael Lehmann turned this unusual film into something more than another teen-death flick. There is real wit and sharp satire afoot, and the very fusion of horror and comedy is provocative in itself. Heathers remains a kind of benchmark in contemporary cinema for bringing surreal intelligence into Hollywood films. --Tom Keogh --This text refers to the DVD edition.

This very much depends upon my frame of mind at the time of choosing. Normally it's either:

Lost In Translation (2003) - on IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0335266/)

A movie star with a sense of emptiness, and a neglected newlywed meet up as strangers in Tokyo and form an unlikely bond.

The Goonies (1985) - on IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089218/)

A group of west coast kids facing their last days together before a development paves over their homes stumble onto evidence of pirate's treasure, which attracts the attention of a family of criminals.

Mulholland Drive (2001) - on IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0166924/)

A lost woman with amnesia is helped by a plucky ingenue new to L.A. But is everything what it seems to be?

Titanic (1997) - on IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120338/)

Fictional romantic tale of a rich girl and poor boy who meet on the ill-fated voyage of the 'unsinkable' ship.

Yes, I know, that's a lot of favorites. :p What can I say? I love movies.

I don't get out much, so...

The Lord of the Rings trilogy: I like them all, though the Two Towers is probably my fave -
The Fellowship of the Ring (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120737/)
The Two Towers (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167261/)
The Return of the King (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167260/)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0304141/): my favourite book of the series, and besides, the first two films stank. I haven't seen the fourth yet.

Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363771/)

Can't think of any more. Probably Pirates of the Caribbean (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0325980/). I hope the upcoming sequel is as good. :)

Would 'favourite film' be constituted as the one you watch the most? I don't think of it as my favourite film, as I don't think of any film as such, but the one I've watched the most is Dangerous Liaisons with Glenn Close & John Malkovic.
