Im apollogising in advance because you prolly get these threads all the time, but anyways here goes:-

Tomb raider 1 , XP , gildos and advanced installer.

Right ive installed tomb raider using advanced installer, and i run the game using gildos, i start the game and theres no cut scenes just a black screen with three lines going down the screen, this can be by passed by pressing esc, im sure this is where the cut scenes are suposed to be so problem one.

1> No cut scenes.

Then when i get to the title screen i open up the controls setting and i cant change the controls at all, i wanted to do this becuase, forward is walk on the keyboard arrow keys and i dont like using the number pad keys to move,

Then when i load the game no cut scene again and when i bypass that by pressing escape the game loads, and still there is problems.

all the wallas are messed up, as you can see in the pic

I have all the updated drivers for my graphics card (ATI Radeon 9200 pro)

And to top it all off No sound.

So my problems are

1> no cut scenes
2> controls dont cofigure
3> graphics are messed up
4> No sound.

Any ideas at all peeps ?????

Right sorted the Controls and half of the cut scenes ,

still no luck with the grapichs, any body any suggestions as to what is wrong????

I got a bit of the in game sounds like the back ground noise, but no sound effects or music in the in game cut scenes or FMV's, but at least there running. And also theres still the matter of the three lines that seem to split the FMVS up in to sections.

Any ideas guys?????? :(

Episode,
Can you tell us if you used Bokkie's installer or the glidos installer? also Did you download VDMsound.and also the Tomb.exe. download that you need to run with XP. Glidos installer (http://file:///C:/Program%20Files/Glidos/Docs/Local/install.html?lang=en) VDMsound (http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vdmsound/) Tomb.exe. (http://www.smokeypoint.com/glidos.htm)

Hi jules, thanks for the reply ;)

I used bookies installer first, but then the cut scenes dont work.

Ive tried the gildos installer and i get the dodgy walls and ****py sound with some bits missing and no FMVS.

I installed VDM sound and used it with gildos i get sound in FMVS but really poop quality and it seems to sound abit jerky, plus the dodgy walls again.

I can run the game from a clean install with the original CD and using VDM sound and i figured out that you need to turn cap locks off to get the default controls to work.

I just cant seem to get gildos to work right its either one thing that doesnt work and when i make that wrong thing work some thing else goes wrong its so frustrating

Id really like to run it in Gildos as its much better graphics and much nicer on the eyes.

Was i clear enough or do you need more detail than that

thanks again

I'm sorry I can't help you any further :(
I'm as confused as you are to why it won't run properly http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif
Maybe you should ask Bokkie who created the installer for some help as he knows just about everything to do with this subject ;)
Do hope you get it working though as it's realy great to play with Glidos.

Thanks anyways for the replies Jules. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif

Im thinking of finding an old spec computer and using that to play it, its prolly gonna be hard to find a voodoo card around anywhere but ill have a look as they seem to run the game pretty well.

Im basically putting it down to my graphics card as the source of the problem, just cant understand whats wrong with it

Oh well have to find another tomb raider to play in the mean time http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks again
