View Full Version : How did you get hold of TR1?
This may have been done before but I thought this might be quite an interesting thread to make..
With me, the way I founded TR1 was a present for Christmas. I never even knew TR1 existed until I opened it that Christmas morning..It had come with the PS1 console you see..From then on I couldn't put the game down..I played it everyday for like a month until it finally died down a bit.
Yea, so..Was your first copy a Christmas, Birthday present..Or did you hear it by word of mouth, perhaps from a friends or was it a different way?
:D
I got mine last year at a shop for £5 its sold out software version http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

When it came out, I was just a little pup about 8 or 9. My dad bought it, and I used to watch him play it for hours at a time. I fell in love with TR before I even got a chance to play it.
I remember getting scared when people shot at her, or at the monsters in atlantis.
I love TR 1 http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif
I bought all mine (TR 1-5) at Costco at the same time. Or was is Sam's? Anyway, one of those large warehouse stores :D I was so surprised to see all of them at one place.
TR2 was the first TR game I ever got(it was a birthday gift from my dad) and before that I had never heard of Tomb Raider or Lara Croft at all http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
A while later, I saw that the TR1 disc was just laying around the home office of my mom's partner, so I presumed it belonged to his son. I "borrowed" since the owner never came back for it :D It had a crack in it though, so when I was in England I went to a video store with a friend and, browsing through the "3 games for £10" section, I saw the three first TR games there(the Sold Out Version), so I bought them. Only pity is, I got two examples of TR3 instead of getting TR2 and 3
I never bought TR2
Picked up TR3 myself as I had been aticipating it, the same with Cronicles.

I lost my copy of TR1 about a year ago. The other week I popped into a game store and there it was, on the shelf for 49p. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif
I have now installed it with Glidos and started playing again. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I knew what Tomb Raider was from the beginning but first time I played the game was two years ago.
I love TR movies and when I was (and still am) a serious fan of the first movie I decided to try to play the games.
My uncle had the first game so I borrowed it from him and finally bought it from him for 10 euros.
When I first got a PC for Christmas in 1998, my parents said I could have a couple of games with it. I got Sim City Classic and Tomb Raider Unfinished Business, as I'd seen my friends playing them.
Well my first Tomb Raider games were 2 and 3. I got them simultaneously as part of the Eidos game package when I got my first computer years ago. When I installed Tomb Raider II and really started playing it, I fell in love with it. Eventually, I went and bought a copy of the Playstation version because I was skeptical about my Windows XP computer being able to run it properly.
