View Full Version : Favourite Tomb Raider Movie?

Mine has to be Tomb Raider 2. The locations in them where fantastic especially Tokyo and the orb and stuff like that. I bought the 2 versions of that. The normal one, and the Special Widescreen Edition. Love that movie.
I actually like both of them but for different reasons. They are kind of two different films. The second I thought was more comparable to a Bond movie even though I don't like Bond movies much :D But it had a better story and yes, nice locations. I watched the making of it too (both of them in fact) and it was fascinating :wve:
The first one is my favourite. It was much more like the game and AJ was much more like Lara. :) I could watch that film all the time!

Yes I agree, in terms of the game it was much better - right from the beginning she was on a rope dangling upside down! In fact that whole first scene was awesome - it included almost all of Lara's familiar moves :tmb:
i didnt like any of the tomb raiders, they had nothing to do with the games, i have to say i was dissapointed:( ....angelina jolie was a great lara croft though!!!!!

I didn't really like either one, but I guess the first was better.
My favorite TR movie is the first one. I found the second one quite boring.

As a movie, I like them both. But the first one is more Tomb Raider-ish. :)

I love the First One, that one felt more Like Tomb Raider than Tomb Raider 2,
Tomb Raider 2 was good, but I think It was more of an action film with a Licensed character. Still good though

Like a lot of you are saying... I like them both as movies as well, but I like the first one the best... it's more Lara Croft-esque :p but Gerard Butler provided some great eye candy in the second one ;)

the second one had nice stunts. but i really didn't like the fact that the terry character had to exist
I prefer the mediocre first one to the dreadful second one.
First one was awesome, especially the first scene. The second was a bad TR movie and a bad movie alltogether, makes me cringe watchin that film. So i lvoe TR1 and hated TR2

ditto, the second one was a real let down.
Both were irritating. But the first was a little less.

Mine has to be TR, the first! ;) Sure thing! New, original and...just classic! :tmb: Also, the first time we AJ playing Lara´s role! It was cool...and her accent is pretty good!

I ended up enjoying the 1st one more, it felt more "Tomb Raider"
The second one was cool but it just didn't feel to much like Lara.
Though two did have some really cool scenes, and i think AJ looks better in part twp, i love her with just a pony tail vs a braid.
My favourite was the first movie. I loved everything they did with Lara, they gave her this really fresh, new image cutting edge feeling. It had a lot of fun and energy, and was just well...better.
The second movie looks amazing, it has amazing action scenes - so many, but the movie is just too long and boring. I left the cinema feeling tired. I didn't like the way they gave Lara a huge love interest, either, peh...

I absoloutley loved the first one. I've watched it a billion times. the 2nd I only watched once and I must admit I wasn't interested in it and I didn't have a clue of what was going on. The 2nd movie, to me, is a dissapointment.

I like the first one. It stays true to the game IMO.
I have seen the fisrst more than the second and i like the first more i dont think Jan De Bont had what Simon West had thats why it wasn't as good but it wasn't rubbish

the second one, wasent very tomb raiding until the part were these mutants kill peeps. and very rudie. unlike the first one, what a classic
I like the first one best. This is for 2 main reasons:
1.) I HATE Terry Sheridan.
2.) The 2nd film was a good movie but it didnt have a feeling of Tomb raider.
I think that the first one is really good cause they show Lara well, there were lots of tombs,etc.
I liked both movies, but the first one was better and, as many have said, it had a more Tomb Raider feeling. Also, the first was more fresh, something new, and Angelina portrayed Lara very well, imo. I think the second was filmed mainly to cash more money from the TR franchise, but I enjoyed it, nonetheless.
