when you get to the egyptian levels there are the scarygross mummies that cover ground faster than anything else i've seen so far. they have this disgusting red tube that goes from their back to their left elbow. what the crap is that?

the first one you see is very close to the beginning of the city of khamoon level. he's lurking out by the sphinx.
Maybe it's their umbilicus. Albeit in an odd place.

All the designers have done is got the atlantean enemy models and just put white bandages across them......That explains why they still have some red flesh appearing.:D

I think it has something to do with the Atlanteans' ability to shoot fireballs, since it always connects to the arm that shoots them.

Atlanteans as seen in the cut-scene where Natla is imprisoned do not have that vein/tube thingy (as far as I remember). Weird :pi:

kool shots, but the ones that stand up, do they come alive eventually?, and i do rember this vein thing. but from the city of kahmoon, it dosent throw fire balls at me.

when lara is in an unreachable place, like...say...all the way on top of a block, they'll moan and walk around on two legs. as soon as she becomes a potential victim, they drop down onto four legs and start runng and screaming. ugh.

They both have the same pulsating vein!
It took me ages to get a decent picture of the Atlantean Mutant as it kept running and jumping all over the place, must of taken about 25 screen shots before I got the one above!

I had never taken much notice of this feature as they are very fast moving and tend to jump out rather suddenly. I have never studied them that closely!

Wouldn't it have been great if you could pull on the red tube and unravel the mummy? Once unraveled, the mummy would then crumple into a pile of dust on the floor heh.

no, if the red tube was part of the fire ball throwing, and u pulled it out (which would feel rather yuckie) the mummy would stay a live and just try and hurt u like a normmal mummy witch dosent throw fire balls.

He got in TR Unfinished Business, Atlantean Stronghold. When you fall down the pyramid to the floor, pick up the Shotgun Shells on the pedestall nearby and a camera shot will give you that gorgeous view of the creature! ;)
btw: Lara is exactly behind it!

I do agree that lots of times in forums there are arguments and misunderstandings and people just don't get along. Over such little things! I think that it's because when somebody says something you can't see their facial expressions, the tone of their voice while they say it so you are not sure how that person means what they are saying. And that's how an argument begins especially if you tend to see things on the negative side therefore not seeing it in a funny way but in a sarcastic way for example. It's happened to me and I've seen it happen to other members on forums. We should all just try to be friendly and remember that everyone is entitled to their opinion :D

I totally agree! Take a look at Mutant Natla...she has the thing too...it's attached to her cut off/fireball shooting hand (picture below originally posted by jasondavies15 in the "pic of Natla and the massive mutant" thread.) Look under her raised arm.
