I just got TR4 for the PC and I cannot figure out how to exit the game while playing. When you press esc you go to the inventory but there's no exit to main menu
And another question is about the The Times level. It loads very very slowly and Lara doesn't move as soon as I press the button for her to move, or she is generally slow to doing anything. And she doesn't autoaim the enemies. Anything I can do?

In game press P for the pause menu, choose exit to exit game;)

About the Times level, download and replace tomb4.exe with The Last Revelation update patch here http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr4/faq.html

And about the targeting, In game press 'P', choose 'Options' and change 'Targeting' to 'Automatic'.

If Lara is running slowly, reduce the resolution in game by pressing and holding Alt+-

I already have that installed :(
Without it I got an error message as soon as I clicked to play the game.

You can't use The Last Revelation speed patch for The Times level. Eleanna, there is not fix for the slow loading on The Times level. As for the sticking, well firstly reinstate the original exe and try it in compatibility mode for Windows 98.

Nono. Do NOT apply compatibility mode on TR4! If your OS is WindowsXP or W2000, use the WindowsXP/2000 patch available HERE (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/windowsxp2.html).
For the Times level there is no patch available.

Thanks guys
Everything is OK now.
I fixed the targetting from the P menu (it was on manual). And it didn't need compatibility mode but it needed the XP patch. It loads very fast, both the actual game and the Times level :D

All I know is I have the patch installed and they both run the same, which is fast.

hmm...wonders...the .exe file of Times is stand alone (no cd) while tr4's needs the cd. how can the speed patch of tr4 work on Times???

Yes, I suppose it is strange. But I know that the game including Times was incredibly slow in loading at the beginning and then I un-did the compatibility and had the patch installed and the whole game got faster. Maybe the compatibility was what caused the problem because I had the patch already installed when the game was slow.

By default, TR4 and the Times (as well as the TRLE) load slowly. I had to put up with what seemed like endless loading in between levels a long time ago when I played them on an 'ol win98.

I discovered the patches --- for both TR4 and TRLE a long time ago and applied them even now with the XP. They now load fast.

I tried the patch of the TR4 on the Times but it would look for a cd (which of course we don't have for the Times). I tried the stand-alone-no-cd trle speed loader on the Times but it messed up my menu screen. No good either.

So what happened to you is indeed baffling (in your word, strange)
