Tomb Raider Movies outlook

This is similar to Andrantos's qustion regarding the future of Tomb Raider. But I wanted to touch on the idea or question ofthe future of the Tomb Raider Movies future in relation to the sucess of the game. I am sure that if the game goes well there is certain to be another movie. I predict in fact that by next summer they will be working on another TR movie! What do u guys think? Trinity ( I think thats her name on her as well) gave me a petition for another Tomb Raider movie which I handed to Angelina at the Sharktake premeire movie In Nyc. You can see the pic of me handing it to her in my gallery in fact. But I know that one of my friends who got a letter back from her had mentioned that Angelina said that she had misplaced her letters and only just found them. And said that she was sorry for a delay in writingback. ( she almost always writes fans back if u give her a letter in person) . But anyway my point is that maybe in the crazyness of the night she misplaced the envelope . I know it kept slipping out the book I gave her that she was holding. I had to tell her to push it back in once as it was sliding again! I am going to WRD in washington Dc this June and will give her a copy again.. So hopefully this will have some impact. I also recently wrote up a letter about why this movie is important to fans and what we felt we would like to see ( speaking collectively) . If anyone hasnt signed the petition now is a good time to do it . Cause she comes through here a lot and I will prolly end up going into see her before June. (I will post the link after I ask Trinity for it again, I am on my newer computer and dont have anything saved)

I think another TR movie would be a good idea. I just think they never really captured TR and Lara quite right. Though, the second movie was a lot better than the first. So hopefully, a third time will do the trick, aye? I think if the writers, directors, producers really focus on Tomb Raider and Lara Croft, they could have a hit on their hands.

I think that it would make an exelent movie, but not if angie played it(no offence) but she really doesnt fit the part.

What do you say?? I don't think you are good in movies. Angie is the perfect Lara. There can't be another one making movies of Tomb Raider. Angelina Jolie is the only one. No one can replace her. A tomb raider movie without Angie is not a good tomb raider movie. Angie was born to make that role. Accept it. No offense. Thanks.

AJ makes a terrible Lara IMO. No offense, but her and Lara are completely different in every way, and AJ just can't keep up.

Well I think Angelina COULD be the best lara.. But I dont think she really knew what she was getting into playing lara. I say this and yet I am a BIg Angelina fan. I can love Angelina and be honest and say that she and the director really missed out on what makes Lara Lara to us fans. I think she should have the chance to do it again. BUT I would like to see more attention paid to what the fans wanted. Why oh why hasnt anyone done that yet? Anyway I think the next movie they should consult with fans. Makes the most sense for them financially as well.

I agree with Melonie becuase just becuase she looks like her doesnt mean nothing. you have to have the right perservearence, style, and attitude. Angie may have the style, but she doesnt have the other 2. Now tush about this topic enough has been said we don't want to get in a arguement about whos good or bad otherwise it will lead up to a "My horse is bigger than your horse type arguement", (sorry for my crude humor)

I don't think there is anyone else who could look or sound like Lara better than AJ. The second movie was just one step closer to perfecting the role. That's why there needs to be a third.

I think AJ is the only Lara Croft look alike, she looks so close to Lara that to put someone else in the third movie, wouldnt be right at all, if AJ didnt act in the third movie, we might as well not have a third.

I hope theres more then 3 movies, I thought the 1st and 2nd movies were both good, if they ended the TR movies at only the third one, it would not be much of a collection to build. 4 or 5 would be nicer http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

If the 1st movie was alittle bad then the 2nd, I guess the Lara fans know more then the directors do. They need to play all the games to really get into what the fans are looking for in the movie.

I think AJ did a wonderful job taking on Lara's role. I agree to what Capri said. If there's ever a 3rd TR movie..maybe Toby should drop by..LOL..just a thought.

In some ways they kind of cheeseballed it up with the first movie. One thing I don't like is the new logo. The whole fanciful silver "Lara Croft: TOMB RAIDER" thing doesn't sit well. I want the good old brown wooden looking "Tomb Raider" logo back... But don't get me wrong, I LOVED the movies and own both, and would gladly buy a third if it were to happen.
