Hi everyone http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

I have just started to replay TR1 (with Bokkies Adv. Inst., Glidos & VDMSound) and find that everything is very slow and sluggish (Lara even RUNS IN SLOW MOTION!!).
I'm sure I have read about that somewhere in an earlier topic, but I just can't find it anywhere.
It is probably something simple like adjusting some settings, but I need to know which ones and where to find them(I am NOT very computer literate http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif )

So I would be ever so grateful if someone could help me here, please.

Thanks in advance http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif

PS: maybe I should mention that I played TR1 not so long ago and it worked fine then.

...a voice from the darkness.....

GABI, I also bumped into this a few months ago... Lara and the whole game was unplayable because of the heavy slowness, and not to mention that Lara walked originally and She started to run just after a few hits on the SHIFT-key, and so on... It was horrible. A resident program caused all of this, what was running in the background. It was the ATI TaskBar Utility: I disabled it, and everything's fine since I did it...

So check Your TaskBar where the clock is visible, and disable some probably unnecessary programs while You're playing with TR1+Gold. You can also use CTRL+ALT+DEL to call the Windows Task Manager to see and disable more unnecessary programs...

But be careful with closing those running applications: some of them are necessary and You shouldn't disable them...

I hope I managed to help a bit... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi SYS,
thanks for your reply and sorry for not getting back to you earlier, but I've been away for a couple of days.
I tried what you suggested and closed anything that might have been running in the background, but to no avail. Lara still does everything in slow motion and it is quite impossible to play like this.

Any more ideas?
Anyone?

Thank you
