So how old were you when you finally completed TOMB RAIDER?
I was 12 (my current age!) :D
I was 16. Ironically it was the last TR game for me to beat in the series.

I was so chuffed at beating this that I actually wrote this down somewhere. But unfortunately I lost the piece of paper :(
It was 1998, I think, which would make me 13 at the time, and I think I beat it at 10:30 PM! :jmp:
I was 9-10 when I first played...
Well let me see. I completed TR1 in the year 2000.
Thus, I would have been 19 :)

i was about 9 years old when i completed it. im now 17. lol my parents let me have it even though i was only 9 and it was a 15. :jmp:
Hmm a decade ago... I'd be about 14 :p

TR1 2005 age 35.
TR2 1997
TR3 2005
Been doing these games for years with no walk throughs or help in any way and no gaming background.
I've been stuck sometimes up to six months in some levels.
Just love it!!!!!!! The elation of advancing through using your own thinking is addictive.
Now doing TR5. Intend doing all TR's. See you in 2020 (or 2030) if my brain is still functioning at that age!

I was 13, i am now 14, i never really got round to completing it, i got it when i was about 10-11
Although I bought the game at the age of 10, (1996) I didn't actually complete it until 2005 lol, so I'd have been 18/19.
I'm 34 and am working my way through the games. First game was TRC which I got with my PC in 2001 and am on Red Alert. Got stuck on all the bugs and had to restart the last level again. Very frustrating! So gave up for a while and decided to go back to the very beginning. I don't play all that frequently (life gets in the way) but love it when I do. Lara rocks!

Played it first at the age of 10 @ '99 (October) then later finished it @ '00 (Nov.) @ age of 11:D I'll never forget the Tomb Raider experience I had from my first PlayStation game AND the first TR game I've ever played in my life:)

I completed it in 2000 a few months before I turned 21
I was 6 but didn't beat it all by myself, my uncle helped me. :D Alls I did was shoot and walk around, eventually I played them on my own.
i first played TR1 after TR2 came out, i got TR2 as a birthday present, a ps1 console bundle, after the first level i went and got TR1. Brilliant memorys.

I only ever rented this game out when I first saw it. That was 1997, so I was 21 I guess? I only ever bought the actual game in the special Australian Collector's Edition with 1, 2 and 3 in it, which I bought two years ago. It's funny to hear people mention the good old days when they were only 8 years ago? Seems like the other day to me! :D
I believe I bought the game when it came out in late 1996? I didn't finish it until sometime in 1997. Hard to believe it has been almost 10 years already. I was just playing the TR: Legend demo on my XBOX 360 (on a 60" HDTV). Amazing how far the graphics have come.

I first played it in '96 - I was 19. Ahhh, memories...
Never played it. A Friend had it when it arrived at 1996, but back then I thought it looked too crappy. I haven't finished it at all, but I am now working on it (thanks to TRC) and I'm having a blast. :-)

Me and my mom, with occasional input from my sister, played it together. Mom did the shooting (I never liked the killing parts) and I did the jumping (mom was kinda useless, lol), and my sis helped with the puzzles. It was cute. I finished it when I was 7.
SNEAKY EDIT: I woz 7, not 8. I did TR2 when I was 8... Darned years... I was always a year behind with the Tomb Raider releases up until about Last Revelation =P
nice story lucy :)
Me played when 22, using the saturn version (which I guess was the best version for me, ultra-low res, but 60fps and the great diamonds save system from consoles versions :D)

lol, my strange Tomb Raider-obsessed childhood for you there. Actually, it's still continuing, but there ya go!
Those diamond save crystals... They're the symbol I love to hate. Just seeing one of those sort of made you breathe a sigh of immense relief. I enjoyed TR1 for that reason, as those big old blocky blue things used to make my day after a particularly scary leap (although most of the time they were never quite placed where they were really needed!)

Well I'm working on it right now. I haven't played for 8 or 9 years. Right now I'm at level 10. If I finish before the end of the year I'll be 22.
finished TR1 when it was re-released for the premier collection in 1998.
I was 16 at that time, took me quite awhile to finish the game =S
My dad played this game while I hid behind a cushion crying everytime an enemy came. And digging my nails into my Dad's shoulder whenever the "scary music" started.
(I was only 6!)

LitaRocks, awwwww, lol!!! That scary music, even listening to it now when I'm not playing on the game, makes my heart thud like crazy!
The most effective use of music I think I've ever seen!!!

if i complete it this year i will be 12 when i complete it.
If it was 1996 when it was released (seems longer ago) then I was 27 when I bought it and completed it. Took me about 2 weeks and I called the helpline once after being stuck on one of the puzzles for 2 days.
Still one of my favourite TRs, I still play occasionally on my PDA. I love the way the graphics and environments have advanced through the series but wish it wasn't falling into the 'shooter' category so eagerly.
Hmmm bout ten I guess, back in 2000
I borrowed all the games from my uncle up to AOD which was the first I bothered to buy

Today For The 100 Time Wicked Game
I played it around Christmas 1996, so I was 17. I remember buying it on Christmas eve because Lara's fun bags on the cover basically had me hooked.
Then I ended up loving the game right away...I stayed up all night long playing it and played it my whole x-mas break with my friends until we had a huge ice storm pass through that shut down the power for a day.
I remember sitting in my room with my buds trying to see if we knew anyone who had a generator so we could continue playing.

I was 13 when I beat it for the first time. I'd been playing it for a few years but I didn't try to play it all the way through and really try to beat it until then.
I was 24 in '96. Those were some grand times. It used to be that a new TR game would come out the wednesday before thanksgiving. I would have the whole 4 day weekend to play (between stuffing myself with turkey). Of course, they would take me longer than that to finish, i'm sure that TR1 took me at least a month...
I haven't played TR1 in years, having lent it to a "friend" and then never getting it back. I've been nostalgic for it of late and have just ordered it, I should have it in a few days. I wonder if it will be the same?
