View Full Version : Have You Ever Been Stalked?

Hi all :)

I just wondered if any of you have been pursued unhealthily before.

I myself had a terrifying experience with a stalker not so long ago. The worst thing was, he was a policeman so I felt that I was in a no-win situation. I became a prisoner in my own home. I can't go into detail but needless to say there became a point when he threatened to break down my front door if I did not answer.

I had all the flowers, letters, texts, phonecalls, suicide threats, declarations of love and all sorts. It was most frightening at the time.

Has anybody else experienced this sort of behaviour?

Oh I'm fine now  It wasn't really my fault. It is a long story but he used my computer once when in the house and did not log out of a site. I saw at first hand what sort of monster I was dealing with.

He went and crashed his car deliberately at one point. It was all because of me according to one of his female pals (she did not realise there was a problem at first and I could not tell her either for fear of it getting back to him but eventually she saw it for herseldf and said 'I can't believe this, he can't stop talking about you') It was thanks to her I escaped and I moved area also.

I am absolutely very sorry to hear about that Sugs! That must have been very frightening an ordeal to go through, there are some people out there that are just quite simply 'Nut-cases'! Very disturbed people!

my aunt was stalked!

She just moved into her new apartment. One night while changing she noticed this dude was watching from his car. She closed blinds of her windows and for a while didnt see him. One night she had alittle to much to drink and fell asleep on her bed. The next morning she woke up with her pants around her ankles and the slider was wide open...

My sister had a simillar experience when she was 13. A 30 year ols guy wanted her so badly. He used to call in the middle of the night threatening to run her over and stuff. It got very ugly, but then my mom reported him to the cops, but I can't remember how it ended.

I was stalked in Italy twice in the same trip! It wasn't anything like yours, SugarPie, but still terrifying none the less. I was visiting my sister who was spending a year abroad in Germany, and this guy on a train followed us off and grabbed me and tried to drag me with him... Then the next night a guy was following my sister and I no matter what train car we were on, then when we got to the next station he followed us around until we got on the bus that took us to our hostel.... I started crying it was so scary!

My older sister had a Stalker once, she began to notice him everywhere she was he even went to one of her class's and sat behind her, then one night she was alone at her house and her dog started barking she looked out the window and he was there looking at her, so she called the cops and her friends and my parents her friend came over first and picked her up they met up with the cops. the cops said they would find him abd told her to go back to her house on the way there though they saw him walkingso the sped off to her house. THe guy was arrested for a couple of days and my sister got a shotgun and a tazer, he never bothered her after that. It was really creepy.

Oh my, there are some nightmare stories being revealed here and I am so sorry for all that have experienced this. Thank you for your kind words too - as I said I am OK but it was a comedy of errors as to how this man turned up at my house in the first place.

Thanks BoyTRaider, that is so kind lol

Cyber stalked... Three times. Really don't wanna get into details.

Anyway, sorry if I seem a bit detached from online people sometimes but the fact of the matter is, I can't trust most forumers or Members. Once may have been enough; Three times is too much. Really puts a damper on my cheerful mood.

Anyway, when I say I am not interested in a relationship, I mean I am not interested; PERIOD.

This is the sort of damage it can do Catapharact. I refuse to let it beat me though - I want to help others who are in this situation as it is very difficult to see clearly when you are in the situation youself.

I do hope you are OK and not too cynical. Don't let it ruin the rest of your life

My best friend had a similar experience. Her ex-boyfriend couldn't cope with the fact that they broke up. One night he went into her bedroom through the window (thank God her family didn't find out). That made her live somewhere else for almost two months.

Sure know what Sugarpie went through as i was there for her as a friend by talking on the phone and being supportful and i even spoke to this stalker myself, not knowing ofcourse at the time what a pain he was to become but i wont go into any detail either.

I met Sugarpie after all this and this was a lady so frightened with the ways this guy was and al i can say is Sugarpie did shine through cos it was such a hard situation when this guy is a police man but with friends and family and heart which this lady has so SOmuch of was thankfully able to get through it.

Even though Sugarpie was going through all this she still had time for everybody else and this is Sugar through and through, cares the world for friends and is such wonderful friend anyone could ever wish for inlife

Thank you

Well, it wasn't full-on stalking, but I had this guy who was really, really in love with me about three years ago. He went to my school, and he was weird from the start. He always asked where I lived so he could send me roses, and he would call me a lot. It all ended up with him getting arrested at school, for holding someone at knife-point. It was really scary, I'm thankful all he did to me was try to send me roses.

Wayne was there for me indeed. It is OK to say what happened because I want to warn people how bad it is to meet people from an online site without taking proper pecautions. I took all the precautions and only met him as a friend. I had told Wayne where I ws going and he called me to make sure I was safe. I was supposed to meet this 'friend' in broad daylight and in a public place but as I was getting ready that morning I sliced my foot open......the rest is not worth knowing :(

I've never been stalked but I was attacked once, not really the same but...... :whi: I'm sorry all of you had to go through that. One of my friends got some threatening e-mails and the guy waiting outside her house but it's been remedied. Turns out he got her info through myspace.com.

I had a guy I knew only online add me back to his msn list a year after I deleted and blocked him (he did the same, I checked). He ended up back on my list because somehow the 'Alert me when other people have added me to their contact list' box wasn't checked (it's freaky that he would've known that). He tried to lie about it, saying he never deleted me... and said more creepy things to me.

One of the first few times I spoke to him he mispelled my name as "Marry" and when I corrected him he said "it's the special spelling" and in general was overly nice... like he was trying to get something from me. He only knew me for a few days before saying these things. The second time he added me back, he was saying "I wish I could get with you" and other inappropriate things. I deleted/blocked him again and haven't heard from him since.

I have another one... but it's a long story. It happened at work. Pm me if you want the whole story.

It's disturbing that these people don't even see any problem with their behaviour. The guy I'm talking about surely didn't... and obviously didn't want to admit it because instead of apologizing when I threatened to tell HR in the office, he made up a story and tried to act like he was just 'being a friendly coworker' (his words exactly) and tried to act like it was his idea to go away.

I guess what he did qualifies more as harassment. Instead of taking my saying 'go away' (and I said it THREE times) for what it meant, he took it as me being mad and spent a month thinking about it before sending me another email. I was never interested in him and I simply wanted him to leave me alone and never speak to me again.

He was definitely obsessed, to say the least, and I think he was delusional too. I even had others at work who go to school with him (interns) tell me similar stories of what he's done... so I know I wasn't blowing things out of proportion.

Sorry to hear about your story, Sugarpie, I'm sure it is infinitely worse. I left out a lot of the creepy details from mine... but the things I mentioned are already bad enough.

wow that sounds scary.

My mom when she was younger had an experience like this.
She just moved out from her parents house for the first time and had been living with a room mate.
But then she said that for some reason the roommate didnt end up liking her or something. So strangley enough she started getting letters and phonecalls and such saying how some guy was watching her and falling inlove with her.
What got my mom thinking was how the roommate wasnt bothered one bit...weird i would say.
Mom finally got one call that freaked her out the most, the guy called saying what she was wearing and what she was watching, my mom flipped out so she called her mom and dad saying she was going over and that if she didn't show up in 1/2 an hour call the cops.
She got home fine and moved out two days later.

I too feel this had to be a scheme from the room mate, messed up people i tell you.

I've never been stalked in real life that I know of, but if I did run into a situation where I had to defend myself, well, an ambulance would be needed and most definately not for me. Taekwondoe, Muai Tai and Koshiki Karate absolutely rock!
I did suffer a lot from a bad case of bullying during High School, but except for a couple of things that were dealt with, you wouldn't really call it stalking.

I did have a rather nasty experience online one time though. A guy really started harrassing me on a forum that a friend of mine is an Admin @. He gave the guy a warning to back off and gave him a temporary ban to cool his heels. About 5 minutes later I started receiving death threats and a stack of viruses from this guy because he got banned. I gave my friend a call about it and he wasn't happy. Hes a cop who specialises in computer crime, so he traced the guy and checked a few things out. It appears that he had a lot of highly illegal stuff on him, including kiddy porn.
Theres always got to be creepy sicko *****s out there. :P

Sugar, if hes a Copper, there is a way that you can still go around this. Most of the time if you have a problem with a specific police officer, it is best if you go to their direct supervisor. If nothing happens, well, just continue going up the levels or report him to "Internal Affairs". If he stalked you while in Uniform, he could be in quite serious trouble, if you know what I mean. If you still have the stuff he left you, take it with you as evidence if you make a complaint.

We're here for you though, and same with everyone else here who has been stalked. ;)

Sigh.

Yes, i was stalked by a mentally unstable lesbian for like 4 years..............i know, i know, your asking yourself "what in the world" but its a loooooooooooong screwed up story. Im not a lesbian, so dont even ask how i managed to get a lesbian stalker, lol.

She was my best friend throughout high school and then one day stopped talking to me and spread rumors and did all these nasty things for no reason, then after about a year she wanted to be friends, i said "No" because she stabbed me in the back and thats when the crazyiness began.

Its over now and she has gotten better. If she didnt hurt me so bad i would be friends with her, but once a friend does me wrong, i say "Bye Bye".

omg, I couldn't imagine the terror you must have experienced, it must have been very traumatic. Im glad your free of it.

I used to have a kid follow me around, he the same age as me, I only had a small chat with him for 5 minutes and then he was following me home after school at night, he would wait in the bushes outside my house, whwever he seen me outside, he would come out and pretend he was just walking by, I wasn't frightened much but it kinda made me worried. I eventually t9ld my mother after a fortnight, I remember I was laughing so much when the police turned up in the street, I was watching out the window, he started to walk away, but the police just ran after him and pounced on him. I just closed the blinds and told my mum to put the kettle on.

Of course this was years ago and I dodnt understand how serious stalking was.

Let me tell you one thing.

Being stalked by a weirdo is one thing. Being stalked by a cop is quite something else because a lot of cops have some sort of protection window covering them. How do you take action against a cop when it is the law that is harrassing you in the first instance?

Again, sorry to hear of all these bad experiences.

*hugs*

How do you take action against a cop when it is the law that is harrassing you in the first instance?

If an officer is harrassing you though, the only effective things you can really do are go to their superiors, hiring a PI to keep an electronic eye on your place when it starts getting bad, the media or their equivalent of Internal Affairs. I know its hard, but they are the only ways.

So sorry to hear that... and although I have never been stalked by a lesbian I totally know what you mean about the last thing you said. I can't talk to someone again after they've hurt me, because that's like negotiating with a terrorist - if you show her that approach works, she'll do it again to get anything she wants. And no I don't watch political dramas :p
