...is now available for download on the new flash web site. You must click on the "Enter Site" sign, menu, downloads, screensaver to obtain. It's not bad: Taking Lives (http://takinglives.warnerbros.com/indexa.html)

..but I like my Windows XP Video Powertoy that lets me use the trailer (avi or wmv format) for my screensaver: MS XP Video Powertoy (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=88f4de76-1e35-45ca-a574-26e36a73f0f8&DisplayLang=en)

It's a pretty big file. I don't have a site to store it on. If you download the trailer in quicktime format, you can convert it to avi to use with the powertoy. If you have a site I can store it on let me know and I will gladly upload it!

Crazy, the Video Powertoy, does it accept AVIs encoded with any type of codec? The reason I'm asking is because you can use Virtual Dub (http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html) in combination with the DiVx codec for video compression with Microsoft ADPCM audio compression, to get a smaller file size.

That size is insane!!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif My lord!! Sadly, I can't help you then. Only have about 20 mb's free space... :(

I think the only thing the video powertoy cares about is the end format...AVI or WMV..since it's a microsoft product. It doesn't care how you get there. I do not have tons of experience with video editing software, but I remember using several to get them to keep the audio. I didn't try the compression...I just wanted it to work...at the time http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif

Can the powertoy be uninstalled? It can be uninstalled, but it wants me to have WMP9, and I hate that version of WMP so looks like im screwed.

Why do you hate WMP9? I have had no problems with it. But of course I have several different players on my machine.

I installed WMP9 on my other box, and for some reason even though I had it checked not to play my music cds or my mp3s it did it anyway. Even with winamp being the default program it would not let it run the files. Winamp became my default program.

I found a way around that though. I've encoded to MPEG and im converting to compressed AVI. I'll check back in a minute or two.

Okay, I've got it down to 17.1MBs using divx and basic audio compression. Let me try using mp3 audio instead and see if I can get it any smaller.

13.5MBs

Who wants to see if it works with Powertoys? You will most likely need the DiVx Codec which is available here (http://www.divx.com/divx/) (all you need is the free version.

Now...how do I get it out to people? Anyone have some webspace?

Remember the Divx Codec is most likely necessary to view this file, I provided a link in one of the previous posts.

Click Here (http://www.angelfire.lycos.com/alt2/taking/taking_lives.avi) to download the AVI :D (Right-click and choose "Save Target As") ;) The file is 13.52MBs :D
