...it would be nice if they redevelop the very first Tomb Raider based on this new engine?

Tomb Raider 1's story and level design were magnificent.

it sure will be quite a sight ot see the first game with a new "coat of paint".

it really shouldn't be much of a burden on software development as they can reuse the tomb raider legend engine to power the game.

has been almost 10 years since the release of TR1. ahhhh... the memories.

one can only dream.

Yes it seems feasible so long as they felt sure there was a sufficient market. Maybe they could re-touch the original and add a few treat levels to make it more marketable for it's anniversary. If we start asking now it might just be a reality in say, about another 10 years time ;)

That would be nice, but the original will always be the original. Personally, I would like to play that kind of game just to see how editors would make it, but there are some people who won't agree with me.

i agree, a little bit for stuff can be added to make the game better to play.

Well since I never finished TR1 ( :D ) I'd like to see that happen. It would be nice, but I'm not sure it would be that easy, it's almost like building a totally new game (I think). The engine doesn't have much to do with it, after all they didn't make a new engine for TR, they just used on from their other games (Legacy of Kain), that's what I read.
So I don't think that they would make it in time for the anniversary, but who knows. We can dream about that :D

I hope a remake for TR1 will see the light of the PS2/PS3, as an Exclusive and PC too, as TR belongs to PS and PC :D

I really really want to see this happen. I kind of hoped it was going to happen on the Gamecube, seeing as Resident Evil was remade. I really do think it will happen one day. TRL might get people excited about TR again, and then it would sell.

I think it would be awesome to revamp TR, throw in a few extra surprises at the same time.

I was thinking the otherday that it would be nice to have a collectors edition with all the Tomb Raider games, incl. loads of extra's like booklets, art and whatever is possible. Of course this collectors edition will run Windows XP. :tmb:

I don't mind if they wouldn't update the graphics and all but I would like the Tomb Raider games to be able to run with Windows XP without having to resort to 3rd party software.

It would be great. But then alot of the puzzles might have to be solved a bit differently. I mean one major obstacle is how much shorter Lara's jump distance is in Legend compared to the original TR. Most puzzles were based on jumping.

Hmm I don't know, I mean it would be like the exact same game, but maybe they could change it a little bit and add a few more levels, who knows. It should be fun! They could remake the Mansion too. (TR1 Style.) :D

at ign they say that the 10th anniversery is happening. But its kinda crap that its only on psp because whats the point of remaking a game just for a console that has a screen with a size that is slightly bigger than a mobile phone. They hopefully will have it on more platforms seeing that legend is out on basically all of the platforms now, seeing that the other day they announced it for the nintendo platforms. I agree with what you's said about changing and possibly adding more levels with the new lara that would be cool, especially if after every new game they made, they remade a new one with the new lara for each game. if they did this i cant wait till they remake the second one:) hopefully they will also re do the fmv sequences because they were cool and with the graphics they used for the cover and some pictures of legend they look pretty mad and hell more realistic, cept in legend there is no fmv sequences:( but the graphics are hell good anyways. It would also be cool if when they released this 10th anniversery if they included the original one as well so then its like even more of a classic because then you could play the new updated version and then the original after wards to remember the old style of it

Honestly people, to play TR1 with dgVoodoo @ 1600x1200 is like playing a remake compared to 640x480 vesa... :-D

I replayed Tr1 last year using Glidos and it did look great.

But can you imagine that quality of level design with 21st century graphics, that would be outstanding.

Yes, keep the fingers crossed that CD will remake TR 1 due to he 10th anniversary! :) If they use the graphics engine of Legend and add a few new puzzles in addition to some extra levels that would be amazing!! I will hope every day that they really do this!! I would die for that game!

I'd love the game to be remade! First of all, TR1 isn't very well known among youths with all the latest PS2 games these days, which you so a remake would get it the popularity it deserves. Secondly, it would definitely look amazing with the Legend engine!!!!!

However, the only thing I want changed is the graphics. Moves and levels must be the same!!!!!!!!

And I don't want it to be a PSP exclusive! :( Please release it on PS2, XBox, PS3, etc, CD!!!!

Yea i agree with TombRaiderLover, i want it to be on all platforms, surely they would make more money that way!

To be honest if it was remade I wouldn't buy it coz I already have the game and a remake would be exactly the same but with better graphics. To me graphics are the least important thing in a game so to me buying the same game again just with better graphics would be a waste of money.
