With good humour in mind, we're tentatively canvassing opinion on who should replace the bee-stung lipped beauty as buxom pistol-toting adventurer Lara Croft. Lobby your ideas and suggestion at the link below. We'll post the most popular and/or funniest in a follow-up article next week. Have fun!

Harrison Ford in a dress, he's already good at tomb raiding.
And I believe he was looking to do another Indiana Croft film......... :D

Kiera Knightly is to scrawny and young to play Lara.
I personally would like to see Kate Beckinsale in the role.
I've edited a picture and everything.

Lita is cool I love wrestling Lita, Victoria and Hiroko are my favourite divas! Victoria's new theme song rocks if there's a third TR movie it should be on the soundtrack!

I love Rachel Wiesz.
Rhona Mitra is beautiful and would be great, but I wonder if she can act that good.
I think a fresh face...maybe not a big name actress would be best.

I think Rachel Weisz would be good. She was great in the Mummy series.

Keira Knightley!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-5.gif
She definitely gets my vote...
Ever since I saw King Arthur I was convinced she'd make a perfect Lara Croft (since Angelina wouldn't make another one).
I've now seen King Arthur a second time and I'm still as convinced! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
She's so extremely talented and believable, and she really makes her characters "alive" and unique.
And she certainly has that british accent going for
her... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif ;)

I am sorry but I can not see my two fave video game heroines as one please not Jill as Lara it won't be right!
Chall!
Errrrr, no
Sandra Bullock
At 38/39 she's too old. She wouldn't make a good Lara anyway.
Catherine Zeta Jones
Would have been a good Lara if she'd been picked when Jolie first got the gig, but again, probably too old now.
Kiera Knightly
Good actress, but doesn't have a Lara chest. She's also too young.
Would possibly be an option
Jolene Balack (Is that how u spell it?)
Looks the part, but I've never seen her in anything. Can she act?
Kelly Brook
Perfect body, perfect age, but probably can't act. I'll be fair and wait until I've seen her **** up a film role before I completely dismiss her, though.
Kristin Kreuk
Looks the part. Might be too American for the role.
Ultimately, it's still gotta be Jolie. Someone offer her 500 million or something. She'll come back.
Scott Lee! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Of course I agree with you that ultimately it just HAS to be Angelina Jolie!!!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-5.gif
There is none as perfect for the part as she is!!!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
I'm still hoping deep down inside that she WILL change her mind and step into Lara's shoes at least once more.
But what if she really won't do it??? :(
That's why I'm thinking about the alternatives.
And I really disagree with you that Keira Knightley couldn't do the part. Yes she's young.
But if I were to decide I'd want a TR-movie that take place BEFORE the first two....., a film showing us how it began, what formed Lara into the Tomb Raider she is now (Angelina Jolie), a film really digging into Lara's personality and showing us her earlier Tomb Raiding experiences, how did she get so hooked on Tomb Raiding??
Therefor we'd have a "younger Lara" in her early twenties, which Keira is, and about the chest....well Scott let's face it.....there are some great methods nowadays to stuff a bra and still get it to look very authentic!! ;)
One of the main reasons why I want a "younger Lara" is because then it wouldn't be a replacement for Angelina Jolie who still is Lara.....just a few years ahead.
Because for me it would feel so weird to have a replacement for Angelina Jolie who for me IS Lara (in the movies anyway), I would probably just sit there and compare her to Angelina Jolie (and most likely feel disappointed, thinking that's not Lara Croft, Angelina is).
I would however not feel that way if Keira Knightely did a "younger Lara".
You know, like with Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford always play Indiana in the movies, except for in the movie where they did the story around a younger Indiana. Then they of course switched to a younger actor and that worked out just fine!
So this is just my idea! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
Feel free to critisize...... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif
Yeah I'd like to see a young Lara film showing how she escaped her roots etc. That would be very intresting. In such a scenario Kiera Knightly might actually be suitable.
The film could progress slowly, go through a long bit where a small plane crashes and thrusts Lara into surviving the Peruvian mountains (via an old temple ala "Caves"), and then returning to England at the end a completely different woman. I'm sure Jon Voight would be only too happy to return as the dad once he finds out Jolie isn't involved.

Forgot about Jennifer Garner http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I thought briefly about her when I was doing my list. Although I think she would have made a great younger Lara a few years ago however, I'm not sure about her as a direct replacement for Jolie. Weird, huh?

I always thought that the first TR movie shouldv'e been about the plane crash. Kiera Knightly would be good for a younger role. Her and Jennifer Garner look a lot alike, but Garners ears stick out, and probably wouldn't be fationable in Lara's braid, and Knightly has though big Angelina lips.
Hmm, it's too bad we can't get this brilliant idea to the people who might be doing a third movie.... ;)
