Can I still get the shotgun if I missed it?

I'm on St. Francis Folly and I don't have the shotgun. I'm pretty sure I missed it in The Lost Valley (oddly enough, I got 4/5 secrets) so can I still get it in a later level, like if it replaces an item like shotgun ammo? I remember Tomb Raider III used this in some levels with some weapons depending on whether or not you had them yet.

yeah, your first chance to get it is in lost valley (not a secret). you'll get another crack at it in palace midas.

Secret No1 in St. Francis Folly is a shot gun -so are secrets 2 & 3. As long as you haven't passed them. You can't go back once you get to the second part with the four doors. Next level, Colusseum, is where you get the magnums but the shotgun is handy here.

i do remember getting the shotgun at lost valley, i useally miss it, as on my screen, its camouflaged.

Where is is it in Palace Midas? I know there is a further chance to get it in Natla's Mines

oops. just went back and played through it. thought it was at the third secret but that was the mags. must be my glaring palace midas bias showing through. :)

This is strange. I'm sure I got the shotgun at the third secret (where you drop down from the aquaduct) along with a small med pack and something else? Been a while though, I'll have to have another look.
I remember getting magnum clips earlier on though but not here.

i got the mags at the secret by the garden with the chomping doors. that secret you mention did have shells but no shotgun. but i could have sworn i got the shotgun in this level the first time i played it because i missed it in lost valley. when i saw the mags, i guessed that i must've been thinking about them, but i seem to remember getting the mags in colosseum the first time i played. maybe i'm taking crazy pills.

yeah. i guess that it has to be. i had all 23 pick-ups. someone else should try the level if we want to be sure.

Must be a typo. I'll have to skip a few levels and take a look. My save games have the shotgun earlier.
