Playstation 2 problems...

Is anyone else having problems with saving your game on the playstion 2 version of Tomb Raider.
Everytime i try and save my progress - and i go back to reload later it hasn't saved and i am back to the beginining of the level.
I have tried saving the same bit 5 times and it still hasn't saved.

Does anyone have ideas??
I am using a brand new memory card and my ps2 saves all my other games.

tomb raider legend doesnt save at the specific location u saved it from, if u save then load, it loads to the last check point u have been to. thats wat i hate from TRL

But even if i save the game and then exit the game and then start it agin when i load the saved game it always starts from the beginining of the level.

so, go to Bolivia, and go to the vines. Save the game. Now push the reset button and load the last game? Does it start from the beginning or the vines?

I don't have the PS2 version yet, but from what I am reading, the problem is similar to other PS2 games, like Devil May Cry 3 where I play for like three minutes on a level, save the game and then when I reload the same gamesave, it goes back to the beginning of the level.

The people that are having their gamesaves go back to the beginning of the level, do you still have the weapons that you pick up from the enemies when you reload the gamesave?
