Tomb Raider 4 not running

Hi Friends,

I am new to this community. I have some graphics issues while running Tomb4.

I have dual boot OS: Win 98 and win 2000 Proffessional. Actually Tomb Raider 5 runs properly but when I start Tomb4, the game starts , there is a black screen and the pink loading bar at the bottom loads properly and then the game screen closes and I am back at the desktop.

From the Tomb4 setup when I choose software mode the game starts and I get the menu(New game, Load game, exit) but there is no background graphics only a black screen and the menu. When I choose new game the game loads and I can hear the sound of the Lara talking with the teacher but there is no display only a black window.

Can somebody help???? I an using an 8MB ATI Rage mobility graphics card and also DirectX 9 and all the directdraw and Direct3D tests were successful.

I am really wondering that Tomb5 runs perfectly but the Tomb4 does'nt.

In which OS you're trying to run TR4... 98 or 2000?

Because TR runs problem free on Win98, i assume you want to run the game in Windows 2000.
» TLR Patch for XP/2000 (Download (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/windowsxp2.html) - Freeware)
Download and install this patch. The installation program will automatically backup your current files in a sub folder called backup. The fix prevents game crashes in full screen mode at high resolutions and improves the saved game loading speed.
When this patch is installed do not use Windows 98 compatibility mode!

And if I may add, HERE (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr4/faq.html) is an excelent guide. Check it out if you run into problems with 2000.
