I don't think that there's much I would want to change about the original TR, it's such a classic! But since playing Legend I have thought how brilliant it would be to play the old TR levels but with graphics of Legend standard. I know they did something similar with the original Metal Gear Solid on the Gamecube, remade the game with better graphics. How cool would it be if they remade TR1? :D I've heard that maybe something like this is being considered for PSP but haven't seen anything yet :(

EDIT: Hey Keebz, great minds think alike....;)

Have a windows version of Tomb Raider on PC. I hate setting it all up in DOS. I'd rather have a setup program with options like filter textures like TR2-3-4-5 have. TR1 is very difficult to setup on WinXP sometimes!

Actually, nothing really. It's a truly amazing game, good graphics or not. Okay, to be honest, I guess I'd love to see it with the graphics of Legend. But that's it.

I love the Graphics of TR dont know why... but a Graphic update would be great.

Agreed,wholeheartedly!

On the whole, there's little I would change about TR1... although the ability to wade in water (that was introduced in TR2) would be welcome ^^.

Obviously, a graphical update would be fine, but I would want to keep the original TR controls for TR1. They just fit the game perfectly :) (I shudder to think what the Ooogie Mummies would look like with a graphical update... brrr!)

My gosh, yes, imagine them! And the mutants as well... *shivery potatoes*

I would give Lara some hands (not just blocks) and a pony tail :P

EDIT - I know thats 2 things but its both graphical so it's k ;P

Yes, totally agree with that

probably just change the graphics-sod Legends though (even though they are impressive on the X-Box360...but im talking PS3!!)
and maybe to add the Levels from Unfinished Buisness-and add a couple more-rather than watching Lara ride her bike to the boat...play it!! or climbing the cliffs up to the St Francis Folly level

Ditto.

I know it gives the game a bit of challenge, but it's really frustrating for me sometimes. (I have a short attention span, heh heh)

Graphics would be nice. Just give it a bit of a 'Last Revelations/Chronicles' look to it. Maybe expand Croft Manor a bit too. (Get rid of those silly boxes!) Maybe the ability to use her N-Gage/AOD look after you beat the game too.

simalar but.

since legend is set back before tr1 and has new moves. egx. rope climbing, swining, no flares. i would ad those features to tr1

I would like for Lara to be able to do angled jumps instead of the grid-based ones.

I wouldn't change anything. TR1 is a classic precisely because it's like the way it is :)

I totally agree with you on that one, Although I would like a more compatible version of TR for XP i cannot ask for anymore!

There's a patch you can get to play the game on Windows XP. Have a look around the TRC site, they'll have it.

Maybe for the next edition of the game Genocide, :). I can see the game's graphics being improved immensely, as they switch their focus onto the next-gen consoles.

Apart from a slight graphics improvement, I would like a musical cue when the level end menus appear.......like TR2 or TR3.

I know, I use dgVoodoo! I was just mentioning that there could be a more user friendly program than having to install mulitple applications to get TR working on XP like Glidos, dgVoodo, VDMSound, Advanced TR install etc...

For it's time nothing came close to the original Tomb Raider. I think it was, in retrospect the only Tomb Raider game that had the perfect balance of everything. It had the right amount of action and the right amount of puzzle solving.

Tomb Raider II got carried away with the amount of action but the original had the perfect balance.

The sound complimented the game well, also. It was really atmospheric and chilling, the kind of music that really sticks in your mind, unlike the games after that which kind of slip away from the memory.

There were also some classic moments in there aswell, like that moment on the third leve the Lost Valley, when you walk around the corner then this T-Rex comes after you. Or not knowing that one of the mummy like creatures was ready to burst around the corner in Egypt. And of course that final boss which took a ridilcous amount of time and bullets to kill!

The easiest way to kill 'the blob' at the end is to use the shotgun and keep dangling off of the ledge when he approaches. Although the shotgun is rather slower in dispensing ammo you'll need less ammo than with say the pistols :wve:

Absolutely nothing. TR1 is the original tomb raider game. All its qualities are because of its originality. Changing any of its bad 'features' will totally change the way I see the game.
I will always love my blocky Lara :D

To be honest with you I don't see why anyone would want to change TR1 at all in a graphical or physical aspect. If Tomb Raider had this many comments to get it better back in 1996 then Tomb Raider probably wouldn't have been as successful as it is now! People who want to make the game better as better graphics etc... are only saying that because of todays standards of graphics in modern games. I couldn't ask TR1 to have better textures, better animations because everything in the game is what makes that game so special. ;)
