Help on TR1

Can anyone tell me how to skip levels? I'm so tired of doing levels one and two when I die on level 3. HELP!!!
I tried the facing North trick and east....NOTHING.

I've never used this code so I don't know for certain if it works, but the level skip code for Playstation is: go to the inventory screen, press L1, triangle, R2, L2, L2, R2, Circle, L1.

One question--why do you have to replay both level one and two? Aren't you saving your games? I know you can't save as often as you may like, but it is possible to save so that you won't have to play everything over again. If you already know about game saves to your memory card, please don't be offended, but seeing as I don't know how familiar you are with this I'm going to tell you about saving to save you some grief of constantly replaying.

To save a game in PS you have to find those blue save crystals. They're the glowing blue diamonds floating about. Lara encounters them every so often (not often enough if you ask me). Once you find one of these diamonds, approach it--have Lara stand right behind it--once you're behind the crystal, press action and a little menu will pop up asking you if you want to save your game. Press yes and then you'll be asked if you want to overwrite your game and press yes to that if you want to save her current position in the game. That's basically it. Then if you die, you can go to your last saved game and play on from there. Once you end a level, I suggest saving and overwriting again--also to keep you from replaying so much over again.

So again, sorry if you already knew this. Hope this info and the level skip code help.

I did not know about the blue crystals...nor have I ever seen them. I have seen the gold skulls etc but no crystals. Will it show up in the inventory list?
Also when I try that level code thing the Triangle always kicks me out of the inventory and back into the game. UGH!!!!
Any thoughts??

Gold skulls? I don't remember off hand any gold skulls. Are you sure you're playing TR1?

Sounds to me like you're playing Last Revelation which has 8 gold skulls in the beginning. When you begin the game, is Lara young? You can tell young Lara by her two pigtails and short/vest outfit. If young Lara is being lead around by a man (Werner von Croy) being instructed on how to perform a standing jump, running jump, etc then you've got Last Revelation not Tomb Raider 1.

If you are playing Last Revelation, then you have unlimited saves and will not encounter any save crystals. Just go to your inventory screen and scroll over until you find what looks like a grey rectangle--the word save appears directly under it. Then press X to choose save and you'll be taken to a menu that has slots--it's up to you if you want to overwrite previous save games or select another slot to save in.

Unlike the other TR games, Chronicles and Last Revelation don't separate all of your levels when you save (and I don't think they automatically pop up a save game window when you end a level). Basically that means it's up to you to save at the end of levels or wherever else you want and if you don't use separate slots you won't be able to go back to past levels. As an example, if you saved level 2 then wrote over that slot when you saved level 3, you can't load level 2--once it's gone it's gone and you'd have to start over if you want to play level 2 again. Make sense?

Now for the Last Rev. level skip code: You must position Lara facing exactly North (according to other people the needle of the compass will become transparent when the red part of the needle rests exactly on North--I don't know for sure if the transparency applies to PS, but I'm assuming so). Once Lara is facing North go into the inventory screen and highlight the load game icon (the other grey rectangle). Press and hold L1, L2, R1, R2, and the up arrow simultaneously for a little bit, then press triangle.

Hopefully this time we've got it right. ;)
