A nice random thread before I go to bed. :D No, that wasn't supposed to rhyme.

Is anyone here as interested as I am in the Solar System and the Universe and all that spacey stuff? :ton:

Do you have a favourite planet or a planet you particularly like for any reason? Whether it be for the name or the size, or the look of it, or the distance it is from the Earth. :p

Of course I like Earth because it's so pretty, and because I live on it and it has all this great stuff. :p But...apart from Earth. :D

I think Venus is very pretty:

Uranus! :D Just kidding (sorry, I had to say that). I think Pluto has always been my favorite planet, it seems so out there and isolated. It's fascinating. It really makes you think what else is out there and beyond.

I guess to look at Saturn and Jupiter. They have all those whirly clouds and nice colors. But they're really cold with frozen amonia gas - not a nice place to live. When I was a kid, they used to think Venus had jungles on it because it was greenish colored from the earth. Until a satellite flew past it and measured temperatures hot enough to melt lead. I don't believe there is any life in our solar system outside the Earth. But in other star systems it is definitely possible - in fact probable. I just don't want them to know where we are. Scientists send out radio transmissions to contact them. But I'd prefer they didn't. Of course, we'll all be dead before any creatures receive the signals and decide to invade. Ha-ha-ha! Thank you Professor Einstein!

Saturn - it has fantastic rings which, as far as anyone knows, might well be unique in the Universe.

:vlol: Lol!

I'm rather attatched to the Earth () but I love the other planets too.

I know it's not a planet, but I love Jupiter's moon Europa. So enigmatic, and with such potential for life beneath that frozen crust :cln:

I can't decide. Space and the universe is all so fascinating. Something we know so much about but at the same time, so little.

Okay, if I had to choose then I'd go with Jupiter, like a huge floating marble. Look at the pattern. o_o God only knows what the surface would be like.

I'm wondering if this thread was just made to see how many people say "Uranus". :p

Other than Earth, which obviously takes first place, I guess it would have to be Saturn or Jupiter. They're the most active and interesting; comparitively (and excluding Neptune and Uranus), the other planets are just chunks of spinning rock/ice.

Oh no, it wasn't. :p That joke just seems so childish to me. I don't think it was really worth bring that joke up in the first place, whoever it was that did.
