My computer. I had a disk failure yesterday, and even though the data loss wasn't as massive as I feared, still I lost half my photo album and a lot of MP3s. What a great reminder how precious and fragile it all is...and how I should make backups more often :hea:

Have you tried Norton Ghost and an external hardrive, Cat? It's a winning combination, take it from me :tmb:

It's amazing how images, music etc piles up on a computer!

I backup to FTP, DVD-RAM, Secondary Hard Drive, Superdisk and Memory stick, so many options out there I like to take advantage of them all...:D, but I mainly use a secondary hard drive for music/video, DVD-RAM for software/downloads and Superdisk for documents....

I'm so grateful to the Mother Coincidence that it hasn't happened to me yet (shhhh). Although a few days ago after an innocent reboot that infernal machine claimed I had no HDD mounted on my PC at all. If it had happened a few weeks earlier (that is, before I made a pre-format backup) I probably would have fainted. My MP3s collected for years are friggin' everything to such a synaesthete like me.

My Vertigo 'Kid Eternity' comic book. I fell in love with the sketchy, painted artwork, dark storyline and main character when sitting in Waterstones reading through their comic section, and I just had to buy it with my last 10 pounds' worth of book tokens. I don't let anyone else read it in case they mess up/crease the pages or smudge the ink or anything. >_> I love it so much.

Nerdy, but computer. I can't help it, I use it for everything. It has almost everything ever linked to my band, it has all my music, all my photo's of friends and pretty much just all my coursework.

Lord knows if I ever need to reformat i'll probably end up lynching myself.

Ah, a Slavic accent ;)
Btw, what does "cice i guzice" (from Croatian preview of Legend a couple of months ago) actually mean? It sounds ridiculous in Polish and I just wonder if it really has to do something with boobs and buttons :p

My most precious item? It would be the first and only version of Lord Of The Rings I ever read. Old, almost falling apart books weren't mine, but I recently traded them for a brand new copy of the trilogy with the person I had borrowed it from. Cost me a lot of money, but the look and smell of these pages is priceless.
