:D

I went cycling into Glasgow with a couple of my friends today, we went for lunch, cycled through the botanic gardens and along the river for a bit, then headed through the city centre and back home. Weather was brilliant for us, clear blue sky for nearly all of the trip, nice warm day and dry ground. One of my friends got a puncture on his back tyre so we spent half an hour resolving that in an empty car park just past the outskirts of the centre of the city, next to the river; really glad of the good weather then, lmao. Been stuck fixing a puncture in the rain before - not fun!

Covered about fifteen to twenty kilometres in the round trip; I must be a little fitter by now! But now my bum's sore, used to big comfy padded chairs, not little bike saddles. :p

Any other cyclists here? :wve: You cycle occasionally for fun or regularly competitively or as opposed to using a car?

Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I like biking, but I don't go too often. Usually when I do, it's with my sister, and just ride around town. I'd like to go biking somewhere beautiful, though. :)

It feels like years since I went out on my bike. It's too small for me now, but hopefully I'll get a new one in the summer and I can go out on my bike in the park.

Last summer I used to cycle about 10km a day, 3 times a week. I liked it a lot. I could see the environment and enjoy fresh air...I'll start again this summer for sure :)

Cheers, Gecko! I have been an avid biker
since way back.

My best rides have been through Northern Lake Garta
in Italy and all over Kriti (That is hard like the Alps!)
with my Kona MTB.

Way back in my USA days, road my Peugeot racer
at least 30 miles a day for years.

That bum pain is part of biking though... =/
Us guys have it even worse when numbness sets in...
Can be cured quickly enough though with the right help!:D

I tried doing some cycling along some quiet roads in the Highlands in summer a couple of years back. I didn't get very far - I hate uphill slopes and they hate me back; it's the Highlands. My stamina tells me I'll only be enjoying mountain scenery from a vehicle powered by something other than my legs. :o :cln:

Always wanted to get fit enough to travel about up northwards just on my bike though. I love the Highlands so much. During that same trip I stayed in a couple of hostels with a group of cyclists who I believe had been making their way from the southmost point of England up to the northmost point of Scotland. They were really interesting and friendly to chat to - cyclists are a great bunch. :D

I haven't ridden since I was a kid, but a friend of mine has cycled round the world at least twice even up into Nepal and the Himalayas.

I don't drive. (re-phrase: I don't have a drivers license ) so I either commute, skate (obviously) or cycle when I have a bike to hand. Off-road over on-road any day. Much more fun :D
