View Full Version : Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation Bug - Please Help!

I'm using Windows XP Professional and I installed Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. I installed the XP patch found at tombraiderchronicles.com and when I go to play the game, all the menus in the setup screen and in the game have been changed from what they originally were; "New Game", etc. to single letters. Is there a way to fix this?

Are you by any chance using a nVidia Riva TNT2 card?

Let us look closer at your system. Please click on following link Diagnose.exe (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/download/diagnose.exe) , choose to Run, then paste the complete result into your next reply.

Btw: Phenomenal One welcome to our forums. :)

You have installed the game on you external drive "E" ... :pi: Not saying that should have to be a problem, but it is a bit unusual.
Try to install it on your C drive, and see if the problem happens again.

Also, very important: ALWAYS quit the autorun menu when you insert the cd in the player. ALWAYS launch the game form the shortcut in Start > All Programs.

No dice. Same problem.

Try this time running the game in 16-bit mode? Change that in setup.

That's how the game is run. Besides that, if it had worked, it would only fix the problem in the game, not the actual setup screen.

Does anyone have any ideas why the setup screen and in-game menus have been changed to single letters after I've installed the XP patch?

This is a bit weird. jbmccune had exactly the same problem and his fix was to not use the latest nVidia drivers.

You have a ATI card so the only thing I can suggest is to uninstall your current driver completely and then re-install. Alternatively, you could try the Omega Drivers (http://www.omegadrivers.net/) instead.
