Is there anyone who would really like to see Core Design come up with another standard TR game (not Next Gen)? And what would you like it to be like? I talk to so many people who love the cities and absolutely hate India. The game started out in tombs, and I wish it would go back to its roots more often. By the way, I loved TR4 - not as much as TR1, but close. Any thoughts on raiding (or not) tombs again?

That's exactly how I feel-
Why create a next generation and completely ruin Lara's character? We love her the way she is! What are these "Darker themes" going to do to her?
It's a little late to release another TR game now, after releasing the Level Editor, but I'd still buy it, and I'm sure most other fans would. I mean, this is a whole game with a story and characters and everything, rather than a collection of levels.
About the locations- I think it's good to have a balance of modern and ancient surroundings, although not TOO many modern ones (like TR2). I think India was annoying- it probably would have been fine if we didn't have to do it all over again in the South Pacific Islands.
And yes, the original is STILL the best (although TR4 comes a close second)

I would prefer to have a re-release of TR1, but now completely reworked with todays image improvements. All levels, should remain identical, including the location of goodies, secrets, etc...

Of course also the basic movements of TR1 should stay intact...so e.g. NO crawling, monkey-swing etc....

But most important: Lara's looks, and other characters or animals should remain the same as in the original TR1

But the textures and details of images(walls, mountains, buildings, skies, tigers, etc)could be greatly improved with the latest DirectX technologies.

And then call it "Tomb Raider I - Revised Edition" ....how about that?

I would LOVE it. It sounds good, but I think most people who already have TR1 wouldn't really be that interested, unless they're like us and know a good thing when they see it :D .

Actually, it looks like TR2. Beware, though - some areas are darker - notably, the beginning of Unfinished Business. Be SURE to install to your C:\TOMBRAID directory!!
