A quick rundown on my situation... I bought a Sapphire 1900XT from Newegg. Within a month, it died. I sent it back to Newegg for a replacement, and they wrote me an email saying they were crediting my cradit card instead. So, I now have the money back.

Which leaves me with my current thought of either replacing the 1900XT with a new 1900XT or to buy an Xbox 360.

I'm on the fence with this decision. Either way, I'm going to love what ever I choose and either way, I'm going to think that I should have bought the other one instead ;).

Anyone got any opinions to "stir the pot" of my decision?

A new 1900XT. Xbox 360 is a piece of crap and doesn't even compare to Wii!

360 has a pretty weak roster of games. A PC has lots more AND has a proper hard drive.

I'd go all for upgrading your PC. A console has a much more limited selection of games and much less capability on moddable games or multiplayer ones.

He/she may not care about modding games or whatever. The 360 also has the obvious benefit of probably keeping pace with reasonably high-powered PC's for a few years but without the downside of continuous expensive upgrading. Plus if noxdg has a big screen HDTV then it's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. Big screen gaming FTW!

Well, do you regularly play console games or do you regularly upgrade your PC or just buy a new PC if you're old one gets too old?

If you play console games, get the 360. If you upgrade a lot - or like modding, playing lots MMOs then the card is the way to go. If you like buying a new PC, go for the 360 :)

To fully enjoy the XB360 you would need a HD screen as well. Plus XBox games cost $15,- more.

Make sure your PC fits the requirements for the X1900XT, i mean the power supply. Make sure its a good and stable one. A 450 W is officially recommended, but since many supplies are not good, take a good 550 W. ;)

Wow.. lots of replies in a very short time!

About the 360: I'm a gadget person. I love all kinds of tech stuff. I guess that's the main intrigue of the 360 to me. I have an HD tv and an HD projector. So, big screen gaming is not a problem ;).

I do agree with the lack of must-have games currently for the 360. Some upcoming games look good like ChromeHounds, Gears of War and Lost Planet. Which are all 360 exclusives.

Other titles like Ghost Recon, Oblivion, Quake4 and others I can't recall off the top of my head are cross platform, run much better, and have better modding options on the PC. Tomb Raider, though cross platform, I believe looks better and runs better on the 360, so I would own it for the 360.

Xbox Live! sounds interesting, but I don't think I'd use it for anything besides downloading game demos and movies.

Besides the gaming aspect, the 1900XT is a tax write off for me because I work out of my home and use my computer for it. But, for work, does one really need one of the fastest 3D video cards on the market?... heh.

It seem to be leaning towards to the 1900XT. And hey, I can buy a 360 controller and pretend it's a 360. :D

Xbox 360, it's accupied with DirectX10 already, 1900XT isn't :p ... question is on what type of games you are enlightened more to? ..even knowing Xbox 360 has almost the same games as PC ..eh. Well, don't bay neither at all atm, wait for PS3!

I was in the same situation, sell my 360 which i don't use and get an X1900XTX, but instead I kept a 360 and bought a X1800XTX which is half the price of a X1900XTX, that way when DX10 cards come out I can sell my X1800XTX and buy one....anyway I still don't use the 360...but it's worth a straight swap for an X1900XTX as that's all it's worth...

Buy both ;) PC for multiplayer, flexibility, upgradability, etc. Console for sitting in front of a TV wondering what to do with the damn game pad :D BTW I own PS2, Xbox and will NOT by another console. [Nothing replaced Quake on Megadrive or TR1 on PS1!] PC GPU is better economics especially as games cheaper (TRL 18 PC, 30-40 on 360?)

HAHA, yeah right, your not being specific a 550W $20 PSU is not good, it's not just about the Wattage, but current, need a PSU wiht at least 30A even 36A on the 12V rail...
