About Photo Editing...

I have a big avatar problem, I've made 2 avatars but neither of them works on Imageshack, the file type is always wrong, I tried to find a program that converts files into GIF JPG JPEG etc. but no luck... :( Does someone know about a free Photo Editing program that works with Imageshack? *Puppy eyes* Please give me a download linky then...

I have no clue what problems Imageshack might have because I don't use it, but GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) is always a good option.
