Ok suppose that the TR 1/2 remake is being remade which one will benefit the most? My first impression is that TR 1 will, but when I thought about it I was like yeah I want to see atlantians and mummies, but what about yetis in ICe palace and Spiders in Xian! Just imagine how much scarier and real it would look. Plus TR 2 has outside enviroments, so the rig and Venice should look spectacular!

If they manage to remake them well, and stick to the original formula...then they have the potential to be massive !!!!

Personally i think ill like TR1 the best....just imagine, spooky dark tombs full of nostalgia... :D:D:D:D:D

TR2 is a great game....but i always preferred the claustraphobic feel of the original...

....oh wait...i just remembered the underwater levels in TR2 !!!! They were amongst some of my favourite TR levels EVER !!! AGHHHH !!

Well I agree both will look great, both are good gameplay wise, but I would give it to TR 1, but it graphics and the areas themselves TR 2 will benefit because in TR 1 you didn't have to worry about backgrounds or the sky. If they do it right Venice should look amazing and hopefully show some parts teeming with people, because I don't remember ever going to Venice with just bad guys all around! Plus City levels will benefit the most because all you have to do is get from point a to point b so Venice could be totally different and really big and long but with of course alot of the same things including a speed boat!

Hmm, TR1 was my favorite and TR2 was my second favorite game. I really think I'd enjoy a TR1 remake more, however the temple of xian and floating island levels were amazing!

And don't forget about Home Sweet Home. :D

Both. I think TR1 update is a must if they are doing an anniversary edition, but I'd love to see TR2's Tibet on a next gen engine....... :)

Exactly if anything they should aleast remake TR 2 also! And maybe later in time TR3 or 4, I really like TR3 idea because imagine Anartica and TX mines ohhh scary! And TR 4 imagine not having to maybe worry about load times to each area such as Cleopatras Temple and all that!

ummm we won't be fighting any animals. it'll just be the trilliontuplet mercenaries. maybe they'll give one a t-rex halloween costume though.

I would love TR2 updated. I LOVED Venice

Very Funny, I don't mind levels like that, but TR Two is defintly perfect inenemy respects you got some merces and Cults at the beginning and end of Tibet, and Venice you have enemies and some mice stuff like that! Legend did have too many Mercs when they do the sequel it should have aleast TR 2 enemies all kinds, I would especially like aMonestary or level where you have the locals help you!
Imagine the monks helping you in the remake awesome, either that or you kill one and then they come and kill you and the cult awesome, but terrifying!

TR1 would benefit more, just because it is so difficult to get running. Unless you know about the advanced installer here or MacGlide if you prefer good computers, it is just very difficult to get working. In fact, IMO the only way to get it working is googling until you find this software, unless you are some kind of super-expert. Getting TR2 to work is, in comparison, rather easy. In TR1, I've also had many issues with the drawing order, where stuff that was behind something got drawn on top of it.

In terms of gameplay, I couldn't say. I do think, though, that TR1 has more parts where you need to really interact with the environment. TR2 has lots of these, too, but it also has many large hallways where you just have to run to the other end. I figure that for them, updated controls for example wouldn't make as much difference as for most of TR1. Whether one likes these changes is a different question, of course. I do think that no parts there really need updating, but I guess I'll think differently once I played a well-done remake.

Of course, there is also the point that TR2 has much more varied environments (including outside environments), so it could use a larger amount of change than TR1, which only plays in caves.

One issue I wonder about: Is it really useful to keep everything a cave that was one in TR1? There are some parts, like the Lost Valley or the Colloseum that look like they were meant to play outside, only the engine couldn't do that. So changing them to outside levels would make sense. On the other hand, the black sky certainly adds to the atmosphere of these levels. I'll be happy with either decision here, but I wouldn't want to make it.

Lastly, Tomb Raider 2 is still my favourite, so if I had to choose which I rather would want remade, I would select TR2.

This is old news. The TR1 remake is already out (called Tomb Raider: Anniversary :)). There apparently is not a TR2 remake.
