I wouldn't. Just one difficulty. No more glowing rock like in Legend :hea: We're not dumb you know.

So for me just one difficulty like in the classics :)

It's not like the difficulty levels in Legend made a difference.. I didn't notice a difference between the difficulty settings at all. TR1 should not have difficultly settings because it was already 100x harder then hard mode in Legend.

TOO TRUE !!!!

If CD go and make everything easier....and everything takes about 3 shots too kill....i will be VERY UNHAPPY !!!!

One standard CHALLENGING setting would be great thanks !!! :P

the game was challenging enough on its own.

the difficulty increased as you progressed thru the game because the levels got progressivley hard. the way it should be in any game.

A tomb raider game doesn't need difficulty settings. The only difficulty I played on in legend was hard and it was still easier than any of the other games. No difficulty setting. The game is supposed to start out easy and get harder as it goes along. Thats what tr1-6 were like and thats what suited tr.

Yeah, if anything I'd like harder, not easier..

How about:
Hard
Harder
Hardest

:p Wouldn't that be great?

Other than the glowing rocks the difference was the damage you inflict and the damage you take.

Totally Lame

i hate difficulty settings. just make a standard difficulty and then maybe after you beat the game you unlock a more difficult mode.

I have to agree I am not all up in hoots with level difficulty, and exactly like many are saying Tomb Raider is perfect difficulty because it starts you at a fairly average difficulty not to hard to be frustrated but not to easy to get bored! And that's what legend lacked. As you got further in legend the bad guys or enviroments never really got harder, but in tomb raider they got harder but keeped up in pace so that you are not bored or left in the dust, even the platforming sequences get harder! One difficulty is fine but if they are going to do difficulties, make easy either the same as the original for the bad guys or alittle easier than the original, medium, a little harder, and hard super hard, where animals are much quicker and smarter!

honestly- the difficult part of TRL was getting used to the controls. By the time you were halfway thru the game, the levels actually got easier and easier because you figured out the controller.

The levels didn get harder or longer ever... they were all basically the same in length, but each seemed shorter because you were used to the controls.

whereas in TR1, as you got used to the controls, the game forced you to figure out how to use what you knew about the controls to figure out progressivly more difficult puzzles (even though they were all grid based, you had to know how to time different jumps and whatnot that were different with every puzzle)- not to mention exploring every nook and cranny to find keys on occasion, which TRL had NONE of. Legends puzzles were all basically the same puzzles in different positions

(dont get me wrong- i still enjoyed legend)

I think they need to have more balanced difficulty in the remake... in tr1, some mutants were harder to beat than natla...

If there is going to be a difficulty setting, then let it actually affect the game.
Easy kills, helper notes, shiny things on easy
harder enemies, no hints on medium.
Less items, no hints, no shimmer, harder to kill enemies on Hard.

I was VERY disappointed that the only thing i could find different between the difficulties in TRL was that enemies were adjusted. That's a cheap copout and hardly qualifies THREE settings... IMO

SAY NO TO DIFFICULTY SETTINGS! Seriously, it was lame in legend, it just made it longer to kill mercs and they could kill you faster. Lose the difficulty setting! It was lame. Did I mention lame??? :ton:

What really PO'd me was you don't win or unlock anything new for doing the harder difficulty in legend! So what's the point? I did all difficulty versions to 100%, time trials, all secrets, everything, and got nothing for doing it on all 3 settings. LAME!!! :cen:

NO WAY. its not in the spirit of tomb raider. weak players dont deserve to advance to the next level anyway. you gotta work for it. :P

I wouldnt either. All it does is make bosses harder to kill and that just annoying. Tomb Raider is not the kind of game that should have a difficulty setting.

All mutants were harder to beat than natla. Natlas the easiest final boss in a game I've ever seen. Hopefully in the remake they'll make natla hard to beat.

leave it on it's set difficulty and no option to change

Leave it on one 'difficulty' I think, the 'difficulty' options on legend simply contributed to the feel of "Is this Tomb Raider? Or an action platform down at the arcade?"

TRI was difficult enough in one mode....The hard mode would take years to finish and the easy would be useless!

hmm.. I would like to see a metal gear solid style difficulty.. now that is hard on european extreme.. 1 hit to kill you! :jmp:

that would be far too hard
i can get through some levels without using a medi pack
but i can't not get hit once on some

It doesn't really matter to me :) If there would be 10 difficulties, I would play them all anyways... hmm but I'd rather they stick to just one, like in the original games;).

The original TR didn't need a 'play mode' gimmick to give it replayability. It had awesome locations and oodles of exploration opportunities, dripping with atmosphere to do that

Therefore, if the remake is going to respect its roots, it shouldn't either. Forget difficulty modes. Put all the time and effort into making this remake into something that is as successful, challenging and atmospheric as the original...
