Sigh...

I'm really getting tired of that stereotype against my people...you couldn't even distinguish between Japanese and Chinese, plus in Chinese there is no sound "wow" or "bow"...and finally that is not even a good inmitation of local dialct, not to mention it is not offical Chinese...

And by the way, the real translation is

"Ni2 De4 Go3 Kan4 Qi2 Lai2 Hen3 Guai4"

That's Chinese MSN talk to you...

Good Question. In our schools. most of our Language choices are Japanese or French. I dont know why.

In Japanese, to say australia it is *oosutoraria* This is because there is no L in the language, they use R as L.

Lost_Raider
17-06-06, 06:51
Ni means You...

Hao means Good...

Ma really means nothing other than making the above statement into a question...

So Ni Hao means you good - as in good to see you or hello...

Ni Hao Ma means are you good - as in how are you...but no one speak Chinese actually use that...We would use "how's it going?" (Zen3 Mo2 Yang4) or "have you eaten yet?" (Chi1 Fan4 Le1 Ma1)...

All the wierd symble I'm using are how Chinese talk on Chat room...Letter part are the prouncation (try French pronucation) and the numbers are the tone for each character...

I have two answers :p:

1. Quite a few.
I am multilingual and rely on it for work. I love language :jmp:!

2.Only English.

I am English (I was born in England) yet my unusual upbringing means I have only started the language quite recently in life . So I only speak in English these days deliberately to learn! It is a reason why I come to TRF !

fluent in French or not?

Pretty fluent.

Bonjour!!! enchanté de faire votre connaissance.!!
There was a thread like this a while ago.

I am guessing H soldier is fluent, seeing he/she comes from Canada.:)

He. :)

Yeah, i'm pretty fluent (considering my mom is french). But i can't carry on a big conversation. I'm better at listening to people talk in french more then talking with people.

I'm only fluent in English.
But also know a little bit of German, and even less Italian.

Ich bin einundzwanzig Jahre alt und ich liebe Tomb Raider!

That is the epitome of my 4 years of German education... how pathetic :D I've forgotten even some of the simplest things.

And like 5 or 6 years of primary school Italian lessons allows me to count to 10 in Italian. Also pathetic...

Arrivederci!
Auf Wiedersehen!
