No, I haven't played AOD.
But I have got to know a bit about Kurtis and Lara, and the whole AOD trilogy thing. (I do bear in mind that this is a touchy subject.)
Should he be brought back in TR8 or have I totally got it wrong?
Anyone's opinions...
(Just pls don't start an argument! lol)

I think he should, but definitely not as a playable character...
2-3 cutscenes with him is enough...

Kurtis was never a cause for stress on my behalf, no more than Amanda is now, simply another character in the game.
I'd like to see him again, but only in a continuation of the AoD storyline.. Not in TR8 as I think that will continue legend's story and it simply wouldn't chronologically work now would it.

Kurtis was never a cause for stress on my behalf, no more than Amanda is now, simply another character in the game.

I agree, but I doubt Crystal Dynamics would follow AOD's storyline.
To be honest I couldn't care less if he was in it or not. In AOD I didn't like him or hate him. He's an interesting character so it could be good for him to come back. However to play as him was really crappy compared to lara. I definitely would like the aod story continued tho whether kurtis is in it or not. I think kurtis is dead tho. I cant see how he could be alive anyway. To be honest I couldn't care less whether he's alive or dead.

AoD trilogy was a totally different genre , he would not fit into the new game.

I think Kurtis belongs in the AoD 'storyline' and would not be acceptable at ALL in TR8.

I would have to say NONO NO! He was AOD only character! If he were in the legend game though I think he should be against lara a Tomb Raider on the other side of the fence so at the end you can watch him suffer a horrible fate by your guns or a trap! I hate so much that Core was trying to make a love story out of it! That is not Tomb Raider come on she lasted two weeks in the Himalayas and she wants a boyfriend now, not cool and how cheezy!

Well, I'm kind of getting the vibe that the majority don't want him back.
Thinking about it now, I don't think he'd fit the storyline.
But, if a new male interest for Lara was introduced in TR8 I wouldn't mind - kind of like Amanda and Rutland (btw, we're they together in Legend?)
NO love interest for Lara. EVER.
Taking the fact I believe Kurtis should only have existed in his creator's mind :D,actually I think this character's context was AOD;probably,he'd return in the remaining games of the trilogy. Though,this new Lara has a new bio,and,once she never lived AOD's happenings,kurtis wouldn't make sense in TR8.
The remake is about TR1 not AOD. Come on....:cln:

What brought up kurtis anyway? He has nothing to do with TR1 or legend, so there isn't any tie in. Lara just met him in AoD and we aren't getting a continuation of that storyline, not now anyways. So no, he does NOT fit in. Leave him out.
In the CD's TR history Kurtis doesn't even exist! :eek: remember? TR2-TR6 never happened in CD's TR history!

No Kurtis. Anyways he can't be in TR8 as he wasn't in TRL. Still I wouldn't mind seeing AoD sequel in the near future, hmm.. :)

I really believe so. <3 Rutland, they should bring him back! <.< Even if Kurtis can kick his butt. Rutland is still a interesting character.

Kurtis was a good character in TRAOD, but the heroine in TR is Lara and not Kurtis, i'll definetaly think that he shouldn't come back in TR8 but i do think that Eidos should follow TRAOD storyline, it was really amazing!!!!!!!:D
But you guys must admit that theres a slight ling with the TRL continuation and Kurtis:
Avalon=>England=>King Arthur=>knights=> Knight Templar=> Lux Veritatis=> KURTIS!!!! :D lol

Leave him as he is walking into the darkness! You know lara never went looking for him she forgot her mommy in the Himalayas! And she has to go to too many museum exhibts and train too much time to go find Kurtis! Plus he ages and Lara doesn't so he is out of her league now, oh well! I wonder if he is still waiting!:)

In my opinion, Kurtis is too GOOD to be in TR8....
He was a deep and very unique character...he was dark and mysterious...
Legend is all peppy glowy happy joy joy brightness....there is no way Kurtis would fit in...
Especially if theyre continuing that horrendous 'find my mother' script in TR8...
So unless they either remake AOD or do a direct continuation....Kurtis should not get involved.. :D

well i dont think that he will be in the game, cause they said that they are going to forget completely about the AOD and have a fresh start with tomb raider. basically starting from chronicles. that is what i think.
Well, since Kurtis belonged to the AoD timeline (parallel universe?), it would be a tad silly for him to appear in TR8...
