Taken From heat Magazine Issue 166:

It's official: no more Tomb Raider Films. Dissapointing Grosses from The Cradle Of Life are to blame.

I hope this isn't true http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-1.gif

It's only official when it comes from Paramount Pictures.

However, we all saw the signs...

I will only believe it when an official article from Paramount comes out and states "No more Tomb Raider movies", not something like "I don't think the financiers will want to do another one". Until then, I still have hopes. :D

That's sad news. I had the opportunity a week ago to buy the dvd for cradle of life for like 10 dollars and amazingly I didn't  just goes to show how I thought the film was lacking. IMO it was Jan de Bont that tried to change Lara in this film. He made her too human and put some not-so-good music as her 'theme song' that's what turned me off form the movie.

If Simon West directed the next film I'd be sure that it would bring back Lara again. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

I agree with the music part. I loved the music from TR1!

First the fans hated the original movie and complained that Simon West did a bad job. Everyone was hoping that Jan de Bont would direct the sequel because of Simon's "CR@P JOB".Now the second film is out, everyone suddenly hates it and loved the first one to bits, blame Jan de Bont and worship Simon West, wanting him to do the next...Isn't it interesting how prompt views change...

I always loved http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/love4.gif the first one. I didn't think it was such a bad movie( I have seen much worse). I liked TR2 but my fav is still TR1!

Rogue http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif Hmmm..what's wrong with Lara being human????
I loved the second movie more so than the first one, simply becuase she WAS more human.....for me it felt like I "got to known her better and deeper", something like that anyway http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
After seeing her in the second movie I feel it's even more fun to play the games - since Cradle of life adds so much more life and reality to the character that is Lara Croft.
I guess it's different how people think but when I play the games I want it to feel like I'm a "human" in the game..., I don't just want to control Lara as a "machine" that shoots down T-rexes.....e.t.c.

I thought the second one was okay. What ruined it for me was the music. Some of it was okay...but it was too slow for TR.

I enjoyed both movies. Different as they were , what could be more fun than to see Lara brought to life through AJ's rendition of her. My biggest disappointment in TR2 (IMO) was that Jan DeBont appeared to give more attention to his stunt / special effects rather than remembering it is Lara that we love and pull for...If it is a financial consideration (since the producers seemed game to do a third), why not just film in the UK , keeping AJ close to home and her son's schooling... plenty of castles, ancient ruins , hilltops and city towers. (Hopefully, AJ would be willing). I do wish even more of her human side could be brought to life in a TR3 - perhaps longterm continued pressure can lead to the " greenlight" at some point in the future. (success of games, rides, cell phone games etc. could combine to reveal the obvious dedicated following and give birth to more). Some things are not meant to be found. Some things are worth fighting and working for...

But I like the films. I mean, they arn't classic TR, but they wer'nt bad, plus they were two of the best action films I've seen in, hold on a minute................five years.

I hope this isn't true http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-1.gif Has t he petition been sent? Is it going to be? You know what we should do we should pitch a protest http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif I mean really we cant watch Lara go out on a spur note to be honest Angel of Darkness was awful compared to all the other games but Ill shoot myself if they dont make any more so there has to be another movie .My GOD! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-1.gif It doesnt have to be all CGI and **** thats what ruined the Cradle! THAT and that stupid guy  http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif So Angie fans write her ,petitioners send the pets write Paramount and tell them to get Brukheimer on the job and get this going http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/violent.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Whats the point in playing the games with no background to them? I didnt play tomb raider much before the movies came out but after I saw the first movie, I loved to play the games. Having such a strong character with real emotions brings life to playing http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif . Like Angelina said I dont want to control Lara as a machine. Having more of an in-depth character definately brought out the good points in Cradle of Life.

I want to see the full directors cut of the first movie. Based on what's in the freakin trailer it could have been a great movie.

TR1: the movie was so slow paced to me and didn't have enough action (gun-play). I liked TR2 but I thought it was getting a little too sexual (mind play) in some of the parts.

entertainment weekly issue 768. june 4 has an article about the up-coming heros. it also has the falling heros. there is a small pix of angie and says: angelina is hot to bad tomb raider isn't. i believe that if the next tomb raider game is hot!then paramount will find new producers for a third tr movie. both directors have produced a extendet directors cut for the films so it would be a good promotion for a third film. and maybe if lara of the game turn to be more of angelina. that would rock and would sell more!
