View Full Version : Doodlin'... (One of Elysia's odd hybrids)
Doodled this yesterday during roleplaying. He's a drow (dark elf) / dragon hybrid (Drow Deep Dragon Disciple, for those of you that know your D&D! Ooh err, lot's of 'd's there...). This is just the prelim sketch - if I get time, I'll be tweakin' and colouring him later.

He doesn't have a name yet - whether he'll become one of my OC's (like Fade, Ebony, Lia, Angel, Kai and Obsidian are) I dunno. I'll see how inspirational he is, first! :D
Oh my God Elysia! That's stunning! I'm lost for words!

OH. MY. GOD!!!! That's stunning! Aaaaaaa why must you all be so talented?! :D
Elysia! That is impressiveeee! O.O ..shading and details are really well done! (he remainds me to be a elfen-death angel @.@)
I just peeked at your Deviantart Elysia.
" :tmb: :D :jmp: :D  X 100000000000" just about sums it up!

I love it!!!
 Thanks, you guys! He was fun to draw... just need to work on a few things (grrr, chains are hard to draw, and there are a few perspective problems I need to sort out when I colour him), but he's kinda cute :D . In a dragony, bloke with-wings-and-spikes-wielding-a-big-sword kind of way!
Riv - :D Lots of rubbish over on my DA page! I'll be posting him up later - after I've finished cooking and have time to write a proper description etc... :D
Apofiss - he kind of is. I have a weidie obsession with half - dragons and sorcerers who embrace a dragon heritage... don't ask why! I guess I just lurve wings... :D
Saying that you're being modest by calling it a "doodle" is an understatement...that's incredible!
Sorry but I just can't comment on this... *drools* :tmb:

 Thanks, everyone!! :D :D

Honestly - it is a doodle! I could never try to sell anything of this quality, and I did draw it whilst my character (19th level elven fighter cleric called Lia, dontchyerknow!) was guarding our main cleric whilst another character was being raised from the dead. I got bored and began to sketch... but my sketches tend to go a little 'overboard' after a while... but thanks!
When he's all coloured and shiny, THEN he'll be more than a sketch ;)
Black & White is enough to provoke drooling :D!
Sexy...perhaps he'd want a place as GROK butler :mis:!
Once again,I only point the wings: they aren't really necessary and,in a way, they take too many space, drawing attention from the essential.

Yess... drows are already sexy enough without the aid of wings :D :mis:
 thanks!
The reason he has wings is due to his class - Dragon disciples take on dragon characterstics, such as wings, scales, claws etc. He's not a fully fledged DD - they have horns, a tail and tend to look a lot less humanoid - but he's pretty advanced and so would have the wings.
:mis: Well, if you like drow... (Can you guess that I do?)

This was an experiment on difficult-to-draw head angles, so it's not quite right - but I am painting a 'straight on' head shot version of this, too.
Other male drow include...
Gentleman pin up (http://www.deviantart.com/view/15026717/)
Chazmyr and Obsidian (http://www.deviantart.com/view/11089826/)
Xan (http://www.deviantart.com/view/16574310/) (he's a gift art, and his creator gave him wings, not me!)
:cln: very very nice Elysia :D
Mistress Elysia :mis:...
All those gentlemen sure came from the D&D's playgirl! They're really hot, mainly the non-winged.Sometimes,the wings appear just as a stereotyped support for the drawing, easily giving the idea of a supernatural being, even the artist isn't that talented, lol. But you're so talented...why those big wings :ton: ?
*meditates on the meaning of a bloke carrying a dead pineapple ,with bananas as hands and feet:D *
I'm going to run out of ways to praise to people today...it's simply talent on paper.

Well, a girl's got to have a hobby... :mis: If I'm going to draw a drow, he may as well be a tasty one!
I do love wings - it has to do with my dragon / demon 'thang'. The idea that these humanoids have a dragon or a demon ancestry just fascinates me, so some end up with wings, others end up with tails, some even have horns! They're all inspired on some level by something I've read (most of the time), so I guess you can blame most of that on my indecent interest in Fantasy literature...

Ahhhh... yes. Well. Hmmm. Obsidian (Alak) is an 'odd' fellow, the brother of my drow female. There's quite a few pics of him knocking around other people's galleries, with his little fruitman, Graham, in tow... (the origins of this character can be found in THIS (http://comments.deviantart.com/1/9918402/69861317) little conversation. Warning, though - it's not for the particularly faint-hearted... :mis:  It also explains THIS PICTURE (http://www.deviantart.com/view/22237042/)... :D )

Of course I wouldn't mind - feel free! I am going to do a coloured version myself; I have a pretty good image in my mind of what he looks like colour-wise, so it'll be interesting to see how someone else views him :tmb:
