What is a Chinchilla and what does it look like.

What can it do, because i hear its like a Parrot where it mimic Sounds and even say a Word.

Is it like a Hamster when it breaks its leg and then the leg heal itself.

Heyo Daventry

I see you are in South Afrika, and I think chinchillas look like the Dassie (rock rabbits) on Table Mountain - have you seen them? They are so funny, they are fierce rabbits :vlol: ! And an amazing fact - the Dassie's closest relative is...... the elephant :jmp:!

Are you hoping to get a chinchilla?

No I'm an English Lady who lives in England! But I have spent some times in your beautiful country so I understand the question!

I know the Dassie-elephant relativity seems impossible. Look here, though:

I am "militaire" so was in SA and Angola often, and I came back on holiday (we call it furlough) in 2000. One of my hobbies is the great battles of history and I went to Rorke's Drift and Isandhlwana:yik:. I now know the meaning of the expression "a shiver up the spine":yik:.
Sorry, maybe we should all get back to the chinchillas!:vlol:

I would love to see your Pictures with your Chinchillas please.

By the way, do they mimic noise and sounds and do they even say a word. :p

No they don't mimic sounds or words - nothing of the sort.

I would upload pictures of my chins but this site doesn't allow attachments and I can't be arsed to use an external host.

A good site for information is http://www.chinchillas-unlimited.co.uk/forums/
