Just in case some of you RE fans are interested, here are some 'spoilers' that I found at www.rehorror.com :
Extinction Script and First Details for 4th Movie
Someone got their hands on a draft of a Resident Evil: Extinction script post-dated May 15th 2006. Here's all the info we could glean from it:
-"Post-apocalyptic" world is a bit of an exaggeration. The film takes place only 3 days after Apocalypse and one third of the US has been infected. A massive quarantine barrier bisects the entire country. Guess which side Alice & co are on? Raccoon City also got nuked, twice.
-The BOWs that will appear in the movie are: zombie, super-zombies (runners), Hunters, Chimeras, the Yawn (snake) and the T-002 Tyrant. Some of the lesser BOWs may get replaced with Lickers from the previous movies due to budget and time constraints.
-Everyone who survived the last film is back, except one. In fact we're first reintroduced to the gang when they're mourning Angie Ashford, who died from a zombie attack a few hours before. They're in their little Mad Max vehicle driving around the Nevada desert. Dr. Issacs is also back and is searching for Alice in his own armoured vehicle. He's also taken to summarily executing his subordinates on a whim.
-Lots of big wide-angle shots from a news helicopter's POV showing destroyed citiy streets à la RE:Outbreak, before zooming in on Alice's vehicle. They stop at a gas station and get out. Jill and L.J take care of food whilst Alice and Carlos get gasoline. Zombies turn up, a battle ensues and during the height of the slaughter Alice uses her super-powers to make the zombies' brains explode.
-Cut to Claire Redfield infiltrating an Umbrella outpost on the outskirts of a city called Birkin (yes, you read that correctly). She takes Nurse Betty hostage and orders her to help Claire get into the more secure sections of the base so she can get more info on the location of her brother, Chris. Betty gets the best of her a few minutes later and activates an alarm. Claire gets taken prisoner.
-Meanwhile Alice & co have also arrived at the outpost and Alice is using her super-powers again to kill the guards. Jill hacks into the security system and shuts it down, meaning all the BOWs can now get out. Hunters and Chimeras take down all the guards whilst Claire, Betty and "Umbrella Captain" (unnamed character who sticks through part of the film) take refuge in an electrified kennel. Alice then enters the base alone and uses her wire kung-fu to kill all the BOWs, including impaling one of the BOW's heads (goodbye PG-13 rating).
-Cue lengthy exposition where it's revealed they've all been exposed to a virus (new virus, T-virus, exposure in the previous movies, exposure just by being in the quarantined zone, who knows?). There is an antidote, located in Umbrella's Alaskan lab. They have 3 weeks to get it or they'll die.
-Cut to abandoned K-mart. It's residents are Mikey (a girl), her Puerto Rican boyfriend "Runt" and annoying hanger-on "Pockmark" (I'm so glad that at least one of them must die). Alice's convoy runs into them and they join up (they also need the cure) just in time for Dr. Issacs and a huge army of zombies to arrive on the scene. Claire leads the convoy off whilst Alice and Issacs go head-to-head. Issacs is written down as "mechanically protected", and I hope to god that means armoured vehicle and not mechwarrior. Issacs gets taken out by the two hundred or so zombies and Alice is left close to death. Claire comes in solo and drags her out of there, and they are picked up by L.J and Pockmark.
-Then comes a series of action scenes depicting the journey to Alaska. It's sort of a protracted chase sequence that involves the Yawn at its climax. Some of the extraneous characters are killed off and either Jill or Carlos bites the dust (almost certainly Jill, as they already have Alice and Claire filling the "kick-ass chick" role and only Carlos for the male lead. L.J doesn't count, he's just comic relief).
-Finally we reach Alaska, where the survivors find out the cure is actually in the blood of a Tyrant (described as "a towering mass of surgically constructed limbs with an empowering hand that features four extremely sharp blades") kept in cold storage. They begin a procedure and fill several vials with its blood when the operation wakes it up. "Epic" fight ensues with a "shocking conclusion" (I'm hoping that means Alice dies. With all her super-powers there is no way they can advance her character any further. Plus, the last five pages of the script focus on setting up Claire's search for her brother in the fourth RE film).
-People's impressions of the script were generally positive and it was labelled as definitely better than Apocalypse. Take that as you will.

Sounds good but wouldn't killing off Jill muck up the game series? I know they don't hold real connections other than character's and the title, but doing one thing in the film could confuse newer players to the series.
And Claire's search for her brother... we're getting a film version of Veronica? Great game so it wouldn't bug me too much. It's nice that they'e taken time to add in parts to the series while still doing their own thing.
Meh, I'll enjoy the film anyways. Cue my rambling to end.

She kind of has. A similar event happened in Sonic X when a girl called Cosmo had immense powers and had to use them to defeat the Metarex (the bad guys) and when she turned Super Cosmo, Tails had to kill her for the better of the universe. :(

As far as Alice, it would be nice if she died a nice, slow, painful, and gruesome death :D
The game series and the movies are two separate entities. Whatever occurs in the movies doesn't affect the games since it takes place in an "alternate universe". A bit like comic book movies such as X-Men, Spiderman, Batman etc.
There's some rumours flying around IMDB that the script review is a fake though with a lot of inconsistancies to what's been said in interviews with the cast and directors. Especially with Ashanti's character Nurse Betty who works for Umbrella in their labs when her site (http://www.ashantithisisme.com/index02.html) posted the following:
"Ashanti will play the character of Betty, a paramedic who is a true angel of Mercy. Betty is a former member of the Chicago Airborne Ambulance and she is in charge of caring for members in the caravan who have been wounded in combat."

omg all those enemys! i dont know if im the only one but the story has always fasinated me. The idea of a viral outbreak and having to quarintine is scary because it has happend before with ebola and that sars ( a cool little thing i read is that they actually had to quaritine taranto for sars before this is where the movie was shot... how ironic huh ) all that stuff. Except in real life people dont turn into zombies. omg! i really cant wait!!!
wow i was wondering if the actual Ashanti was really gonna be in the movie :eek: this is awsome at first i thought it was some random chick named ashanti... but then again who else has that name XD
sucks that they might kill jill but... claire is there to fill the space and i like claire alot more. Besides tehy didnt catch the actual jill. her character in RE:2 wasnt her at all the personailty was way off. jill was always a nice girl. I could never imagine her saying " who the **** are you? " and " if it comes down to it i will take care of it myself " just the way they showed her was WAY off in my opinon. hopefully they get claire head on ^^

I perfectly understand those points, but that doesn't mean I want Jill to die :p
And Ashanti's character makes sense. She finds out about the infection with everyone else, so would she really struggle against Alice and her allies, or use her medical expertise to try and keep them alive until they can reach the antidote? In a weird, convoluted sense, it makes sense, just like everything else in the RE world, lol

I would be a little annoyed though if they killed off Jill, i dont want them to kill of a game character, if they were going to kill someone, i think it should be L.J or Carlos.
Im probably one of the only people who didnt like L.J, and as for Carlos, i didnt like him or him in the game :D
Im also glad that they are putting in a bit more variety from just Zombies, Zombie dogs and Lickers. Im looking forward to seeing Chimeras, Yawn (:jmp) and the Tyrant :D:D:D
I also agree with Lenochka, i liked the way they portrayed her in the movie, but it was the same as Jill in the game, i hope they portray Claire really well, exactly like the game, because Claire is a fantastic character, i would hate to see her ruined.
Hopefully we will see some more male game characters like Chris, i know it is rumored he will be in the film, but if he isnt, hopefully he will be in the fourth, along with Leon :D

as much as i like the game series, i really hated the Clair character :mad: if is Jill that gets killed off then it's a travesty IMO
when i think of Resi Evil, the first thoughts in my mind are Jill,Chris,Leon, Wesker....Claire not even on my radar, just didn't like the character

hehe the only character i didnt care for was steve from code veronica... didnt think we was needed in the story...

I would rather kill myself or avoid the zombies then kill them. Those were real people before. i could never kill a person no matter how deranged they were. Plus i would rather have a quick death than be ripped apart alive...

Hey im not sure if this has come up before... but Angie was attacked by zombies right, carrying the T-Virus obviously, but Angie's Infected too so she wouldnt be infected twice or else she'd become a licker *game logic* In Apocalypse Alice is already infected with the T-Virus so she wasnt bothered about them.

Yeah but thats loved in the game... in the movie i didnt care for jill much. she wasnt jill she was some crazy woman who thinks she is jill. She was so different from game jill it made me alittle mad when i went to see it. Why dont they seperate? like jill and carlos go one way to a lab or something. then alice and the others can go another way and meet up with claire and head the alaska or whatever. We dont want a HUGE bunch of characters runing around together... RE is not a group of people its usually people alone... like jill in the school scene of RE 2 perfect example hehe.

Yeah thats true, which is why I dont understand Paul's need to bring in new characters. However, on the other hand, if it was entirely faithful to the games, theyd be no suprise to fans of the game theyd be like *That guy aint dead yet, she shouldnt have put her gun down, He's about to be tenticled in the head*
BTW, Im glad it says they are further nuking Raccoon City, the Nuke in the movie was great and looked very cool but not hot or damaging enough *like in Nemesis and Outbreak*

The actress has the face to play Claire, but she would look so much better if her hair was tied back in a ponytail like in the games. Here's the guy in negotiations to play Albert Wesker:

That is what I am thinking :( Even though the movies aren't cannon for the series, it would suck if she died...
Interesting. I really appreciate all of this info, but the movie sounds quite awful.

I do :o I am not sure what I actress I think could even look like Claire, but it certainly isn't Ali Larter, and especially in her commando gear....

claire proberbly does have the ponytail in the movie dont forget this is proberbly from just one scene. ali is a great actress the films ive seen her in she was good and that was: drive me crazy, legally blonde, house on haunted hill,final destination 1 and 2, and jay and silent bob strike back (starring another fave actress of mine eliza dushku)

Yes I agree I think they made her very tomboyish cause she was a tomboy but not that tomboyish (Cause Claire did had that nice attitud in the games, It seems llike they made a little cold like they did to Jill) and I think that Carlos is the one that gets to die.
