Anyone here own/played the game? I just got it a couple days ago and i love it. I don't know why i didn't buy this game a while ago! It's simply amazing, and it's definatly different from the games i've played. I usually stick with the action 3rd person shooter games. I've never really tried Horror shooters.
It's a very good game. You can definatly see how much effort was put into the game. For both versions.

Both main characters in this game are good...even though the storyline is just mildley cheesy.
I haven't completed the game yet, i'm only on Chapter 2. I know what happens though because my friend showed me the cinematics. I would have liked to find out what happens myself but oh well.
What does everyone think of this game? Do you think it's the best RE game to date? Why or why not?
I want to see everyone elses opinions on this game!

To be honest it really isnt that scary, except near the end in that weird place with the scary regenarators :eek:
i loved the game, i think the aiming is the best and ada wong is in it with her won little side sotry. but i was dissapointed with the lack of zombies but mad europeans is always the next alternative

Which version are you talking about? GC or Ps2. I was very dissapointed that GC version didn't have the "Seperate Ways" story. After you beat the GC version what replay value is left?
Really? There were some points i found it scary. The one point that made me jump was with those...possesed dogs you find before you rescue Ashley for the first time..There waiting near the church. Other time was when i was first playing the game, i didn't realise they come from behind and they made me jump.
I hate those damn bear traps though! Sometimes i'm very cautious and notice them. Other times i'm so focused to make sure nothing is chasing after me i step in them.

Ahaha, lack of zombies? I hope you remember the part where you first go into the Village and find one of the drivers being burned on a...stick? lol
That was insane, i was close to dying their. I didn't end up finding the shotgun until all of them went into the church.

Yes the game is very good, they made a huge success with RE4. Glad you are enjoying it :).

I see a lot of hardcore RE fans complain about it though. They say it's a "great shooter game but not a RE game. =/
it lack the clasic zombies which are part of each rezzie game. but wow the woman and the pitchfork at the beginning

Are you talking about the dead one? I remember walking into a cabin/shack and finding a dead woman nailed up agains a wall with a pitch fork nailed right in the face hanging on the wall all bloodied up.
PS2 version :)

Yeah well im a hardcore fan of RE (atleast I think) but I didnt find any problems with RE4 well it didnt have the same gameplay, puzzles, etc. but it still followed up the game and alot of people liked the game and not to mention that it brought fans that didnt like the game at first.

Being honest here. I wasn't really to keen on playing any of the RE games until my friend rented RE4. After seeing it, i thought it would be a game worth getting.
Can you give an example of what the gameplay and puzzles were like in the previous games?

Well the other games were muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch scarier, the gameplay wasnt that good you couldnt shoot anywhere like re4 it depended un luck if hitted the head, you couldnt carry that much items, and there were lots of difficult puzzles. :D

Ohhh and an explanation of the puzzles.... well they were dificult and it required you to have certain keys, stones, etc. you always had to look for the key, etc. to unlock the door unlike RE4 and sometimes there were riddles, and the gameplay wasnt that good since you only auto aimed at the enemy and you had to fire at it without you getting to choose where you want to aim like RE4, The camera changed angles during each room, and you had not to much space for the weapons, but still the games were great if you are looking for a scary game :tmb:.
What's the Mercenries game? Is it on the GC version?
I dont know if its on the Gamecube version, you have to complete the game in order to access it on the PS2 version though :)

Well, the older games are still 3rd person game still but instead of the camera being over the shoulder, you see the characters from a further distance from set camera angles. They were scarier as well.
Have a look for Resident evil video's on Youtube to get a better idea :)
If you look for Weskers Report on YouTube, it explains the stories to 1 - 3 and has loads of gameplay and FMV footage in there:)
I heart this game. Ada is so totally hot and cool at the same time ;)
RE Zero is still my fav of the series....but this is a great game :D The only RE game that was bad was RE3 :hea:

I played RE4 more today. Holy crap, there were a couple more parts that made me jump. Those bug like things in the sewers (the partially invisible ones).

Lmao, yeah, that was pretty disgusting.
I recently bought the Blacktail pistol. Sold the Red9 for it...not sure it was a good idea or not. Blacktail fires fast but wastes ammo a lot.
I hate this whole damn castle level. I'm pretty close to the hedge maze. I'm worried to go in because i know their are those dogs that come out from the bushes! haha. :D

lol beat the game in a wekk with my frend, we're re fans. to bad i cant play no more........... gc disc reader aint workin. (sniffle) i miss that game. ( a little)

the only thing missing is indeed the walking dead, but yet again the crazy townsfolk may as well be zombies lol
BUY IT Nephili.........it is quite good, i don't know what console you have but i'm sure you'll enjoy it loads.....

The villagers pratically do the same thing as zombies, except this time they can run! :D
Plus Zombie's dont have twisted little bugs which crawl out of them when you blow there heads off and try to jump on your face like something out of 'Alien'
Yep Nephili- the twisted cultists more than make up in freakyness for the lack of Zombies.. and the Regenerator's .. Oh the fear :eek:
The regenerators screwed me up for days... It's the noise they make! And the music that plays when one is nearby *Shivers*
And what happens if you stay still after blasting a leg off... Makes me jump out of my skin and cringe ... The music doesn't help either!!
Exactly... Jumps right at your neck, I'm not sure which ones are worse, the neck ones or the ones with spikes.
Anybody else actually find that the women were more scarier than the men, especially them chainsaw hags IMO.

Meh. I just got the Blacktail. Broken Buttefly's ammo is hard too hard to find...magnum ammo i mean.
I also got another rifle. Not the bolt-action one.
