FFX is indeed a great game.
I dont remember that monster but I think its the one in Kilika but if its wood the best person to have is Lulu to cast fire, Tidus, Wakka or Kimarhi and Yuna, if Im wrong then check on gamespot for walkthroughs http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/finalfantasy10/hints.html it helped me alot on the game :tmb: Ohh and if it is the one in Kilika the one that is in the middle of the road then I think dont remember well but I think there was a way to get to the temple without defeating him.

hm... wwhat I suggest is going back to a save game where you first got the sphere grid, or just start again. And go through the sphere grid tutorial really slowly. It took me a while too, well not really :)

my friend has 10 and she gets really confused by the grid system. i think it must be the most confusing part of the game.

They don't like Fire spells - Have Lulu cast her strongest Fire spells, keep Yuna in to heal and then a strng fighter like Auron to soak up the damage.

The sphere grid is an excellent way to customising your characters once you understand it - I really, really like it. You need to have a look around the selected character and find the abilities you want - forward planning helps you stop wasting points later via backtracking. I had it that Lulu and Wakka were my offensive magic users, and Tidus was quite an effective healer alongside Yuna. I tanked out Auron and Kimahri, and Rikku ended up as my support magic user (she had all the haste and protect spells). Just keep moving your characters along the grid so they gain more powers. :D

There is a Grid Guide here (http://uk.guides.ign.com/guides/14008/page_15.html)
