View Full Version : What did you play as a kid??
My first real game was Mixed Up Mother Goose. Then I'd play stuff like Commander Keen - I loved that game! Then I moved onto Monkey Island.
I also watched my dad play Prince of Persia (original one that you only had an hour to do. I think they brought out another one later where you got extra time...) and King's Quest 5. Both scared me and I spent most of the time hiding under the desk. I was such a brave kid.
What games did everyone else play??
(I'm talking primary school here...)
I dont remember so good, becouse my memory is going to be dead lol, but I think it was Mario (on sega or somethin like that, and I was 6 or 7) and on PS it was Teken 3, then Spyro (still like that game, me like little kid), then Resident Evil 3, then 1st and second Resident Evil (still I didnt end second one) Then Tomb Raider 2 and so on.:D
Yes it was Commander keen with me too XD.
i loved that game back then :p.
yeah I downloaded commander keen recently off www.dosgames.com but it just wasn't as exciting as it used to be...:(
nevermind
I Would have to say Space Harrier on the Sega Master System:tmb: and any Star Wars game, if i'm lucky enough to play any of those games now the hairs on the back of my neck still stand up.
My first ever computer game was a game for AMIGA, called Cadaver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadaver_(computer_game)). Given the time it had brilliant graphics (as you can see if you follow the link) and a good storyline.
Then I advanced to Monkey Island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_of_Monkey_Island), fell in love with it, went on to the second and tird and fourth of the series over the years. But the first two were the best. Ever. :)
I can only really remember playing The sonic games, Super Mario brothers, erm... Mortal Kombat... and then everything went 3D... along came Spyro.... and i remember a really really random game... where you were all butterflys, and you walked around this massive mansion, trying to work out who murdered this guy, and had to go into certain rooms ect, worked out that i guy called 'Edmond' me thinks killed him, at the end you just float in the sky, was so damn weird... it was actually pretty scary... Anyone remember it?
I've just recalled another one. On the Commodore Amiga I also played Lemmings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemmings_%28video_game%29), which was seriously the best timekiller ever invented. I've spent hours. *sigh* Those were the days! :D
My first electronic game was a borrowed Atari at the age of 16 :D

Astro Wars
I used to watch my dad play video games on the NES/Master System from a young age, there are a few I remember playing with him
1/Super Mario on the NES
2/ Ghouls and Ghosts on the Sega Mega Drive (Seriously, this game is HARD, I recently rediscovered it and could get past the first level)
2/ Sonic the Hedgehog (The original, and the level skip cheat up-down-left-right A+start has always stuck in my head :D )
3/ Lemmings on the Sega Mega Drive.
I was born in 1986 and played these games around 1992, so I was pretty bad at them. :cln:
...I miss those days :o

Pitfall, Q-Bert and The Smurfs on Atari.
Then I got a Sinclare Spectrum and played stuff like Pac Man, Dizzy etc. Then I got a NES and played lots of Mario, then moved onto the MegaDrive/Snes, stopped gaming in about 1995 and got a PSX in 99 where my obsession started again, since then I've had Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube and a bunch of different hand-helds.
Errr, Red Rover, Kiss Chase, Tag and British Bulldog, actually... I never had a computer as a kid.
If we're talking computer games... Pong, round my neighbours. And Wizard's Crown and the Hobbit, but both took 2+ hours to load and invariably crashed after 5 mins anyway...
And there was a Space Invaders game down my Dad's local! Wayhey!

Boulder Dash, Terry Big, Aztec and a few others whose names I can't remember, on my friend's Commodore 128. I was around 4-5 at the time.
Then at the age 10 I got a Super Nintendo, with the classics like Mortal Kombat, Super Mario, Donkey Kong and - my favourite - the relatively obscure Alien 3.
Then at 15 I got a PC, and promptly forgot everything else had ever existed :D First game I played on PC was Doom.
The first game I ever played was Pong. Later in the arcades I played Mr. Do!
