Well as the topic indicates ppl, lets hear your usual FPS tactic. Just don't mention a totally obscure Shooter that no one has heard of before Lol!
- One of my Default Open field high position team tactic is the tri-sniper nesting. One person takes a shot at the target below. If the target manages to escape the LOS (Line of Sight) of one sniper, he easily lands in the other sniper's LOS. However, shifting postion once shots have been fired is important (duh!)
-Always jump when using High explosive Weapons like Rocket Launchers. It clears you out of the blast radius faster.
- Halo Tactic: Best close-range duo; Energy Pistol and SMG (If you can't secure the Enegy sword.) The charges burst mode of the energy pistol takes the shields down and the SMG just kills the target.
Now its your turn. Lets hear em.

I don't know if this really counts as "tactics", but from any FPS game i play, i try to keep my weapon set balanced. Most of my tactics i'm referring to are from when i played Call of Duty 2.
- If your only able to carry 2 weapons (max), then i carry a close range gun for close encounters and a rifle for distance. That's probably the most basic thing but especially when playing Call of Duty 2. Ex. I usually go for (as the Axis) the Kar98K, and a MP40/Shotgun.
- When in close combat, always shift/going back and fourth, jump (yes, i am one of those people who jump around) and if able to, bash opponent with weapon.
- Last, when someone is chasing me, i always try to head into a building and hide behind the door (knowing they'll come the same way i did). I always turn my speakers up so i can hear the smallest things (footsteps), and when they come in the door i give them a smack with my rifle or close range gun (never a pistol, unless you want to die :p ).
But yeah...like i said, don't know if that's really considered tactics, but i thought i'd post it anyways.
Conflict Global Storm- Sniper should always be the leader of the pack... They have the most accurate shot, and can kill in the quickest time.

HS: Good stuff. Yes I totally agree with the jumping part; Really makes things miserable for the opponents Lol!
Mitch: You shouldn't do that. Snipers are like the guardian angels of the pack; They need a high and secure position to shoot from. They are fire support; Not shock troopers.

It certainly does. Luckly i don't get called for doing it. Most of time anyway, i try sneaking up on people when their least expecting it. :D

It depends on the level... If your out in a desert/forest environment then snipers are ideal to take the lead, of course this changes when you enter a cabin or house.... But other environment suchs as cities or areas which are quite compact, Heavy fire should then take the lead.
Trust me on this, It's sooo much more easier when the sniper's take the lead, me and my friend even played double... and i just kept picking them off one by one, and got the highest kill count by the end of it.
I guess it also goes on skill, i am pretty good at quickly manually aiming, which is perfect if you play as the sniper.

Conflict: Global Storm? I'm guessing it's related to Conflict: Desert Storm II Back to Baghdad. It's a good game, though graphics are horrible on it. :p

Best open field tactic is what I refer to as "Spreader Five." You have a five point look out; covering the front, the sides, and the back. Send one person in, and wait for the enemy to spring at em. The enemy reveals their postion and... Its over.

Yup and conflict - Vietnam... Though the graphics for vietnam, and global storm are great. Plus in global storm... you get to play as a new Sniper who's actually female... She freaking Rocks!

Try counter strike. You'll like it even more.
Multiplayer tactic:
Get two whatevers linked and play Team CTF. **** off the other team with soda throwing, hitting, then have someone sneak up on enemies and kill them while you are ****ing them off. When they have reached Maximum **** Limit, have someone grab their flag, and saunter back to base.

LMAO! *Claps* Best Psy-Warfare tactic ever :D. A classic Lol! Works best if the other team are a bunch of teens :p.

For Halo, you are absolutely right about the Plasma Pistol and SMG, that is a deadly combo...my personal favorite is the Battle Rifle though, since accuracy is my strong point...I use the scope and shoot from a distance while the person jumps around. It doesn't help though since I'm really good with it. :D (Halo 2 btw)
for Unreal, Flak Cannon is awesome, but Rocket Launcher is my primary because of splash damage and all.
I always do close quarters cause I find snipers extremely annoying...but that's probably because I suck at sniping. :(
lol...fun topic!
btw, an awesome game on Halo is Juggernaut where everyone's invisible except the juggernaut haha...it's intense and crazy lol...the juggernaut gets a sword though lol. ;)

I'm never a plain shooter guy...tactical stuff was more of my thing...
Well, I only have one stategy...always try to take the most dangerous path and hide in somewhere relatively open, because it's the last place people will check...I manage to wipe out four guys in a row on Counter Strike with a TMP and aim for the chest (I suck at headshots) by suprise them via a hallway that no one dare to cross - there is nothing more funny than watch the score board say that you deal the most damage within the round with the dumbest weapon in the game...
Oh, one more thing, on the 'Net, newbies always out-number the veterans...always try to take them out before the vets can :D

If I told you I'd have to kill you. ;) :p

ditto :D
I stay away from FPS games, I'm rubbish at them. It's so disorientating if I can't see where my character's feet are. :D
When I do play, my strategy - in the loosest sense of the word - is to run around like a headless chicken and shoot like mad in the hope of hitting something. :p

Some of them Ampersand are 3rd person whilst walking around, but when going into serious shooting... go to first person, i prefer one's like that... Get a better idea of who you are and the character :)

Yeah, 1st person is OK for aiming, but not for moving around! :p That disembodied hand in the corner of the screen is frightening, lol. :D

It and the carbine usually becomes the default weapon of choice when there is no Sniper Rifle around :). With 108 shots Max and its Tri-fire burst, it truly can put down a lot.

Oh the Trident is the bread and butter for us UT veterens :D. The newbies usually forget that the rockets do track Lol! Instant splatter.

If you can become a good sniper, you'll definately be in big demand by many clans :) (I should know :whi: Lol!) We have a clan dedicated just to horne a person's sniping skills :). We got the best snipers in the UT universe Lol!

You should try Slayer or Team Sniper Mode on Backwash map. Its CWAZY!

Man, I really like your way of thinking Lol! All I can say is WHERE HAVE YA GUYS BEEN all this time on the forum?! Lol!
If I told you I'd have to kill you. ;) :p
Dang! And here I thought I could fish out some of your tricks of the trade :p. BTW: Get Unreal Tornament A.S.A.P :). Me obviously won't be around with W.O.L.F next year so we may be holding a few matches July and August.
