I always wondered why the great pyramid in Atlantis has "vein"s carrying blood? Are we inside an enormous living being? Or what? :)

That's how I always saw it.
I thought they were feeding the pods inside which the creatures are grown. A bit like the matrix.

It's ambiguous by design (I speculate). You hear the beating heart sound - am I inside a living thing? It contributes to an unresolved sense of unease...perhaps dis-ease...

At least it's very creepy :D
Natla was creating mutants and took the piramide for it. She changed it into a hive, proberly to feed the eggs. Her best work I think. :D
Great stuff, very creepy:D

I think the veins give the game a more "everything is alive! :yik:" feeling.
Maybe the creators wanted gamers to feel some tension when playing tomb raider
Hehe definitely :yik: When I first played Atlantis I was really cautious about stepping on the pink fleshy floor bits. I could almost hear them squelch underfoot... They felt alive.
And I was also terrified of approaching any of those green pods, lol.
I think if Crystal put their hearts into doing the remake properly, the Atlantis levels could be hideously scary (in a great way). I can't wait. :D
