A few days ago I was making history, I managed to get to the second last check point in Great Pyramid without dying. I actually played from Caves to Great Pyramid without dying even once. I'm not sure if it's actually a thing to be proud of, I'm sure there are better players here than I. The rock finally crushed me to the slope where there is a swinging axe on the way and a rock will follow you behind. Damn, I was so close of completing the game. At that point, my time was 5 hours and 4 minutes (Saturn). Not bad I think. I don't have any exact completion time at the moment but I usually finish the game in around 5 h 10 mins on Saturn.

Why don't you share your best time :) Let's start playing! Remember to mention your death count and your platform. The counting starts exactly when the first FMV starts (Lara and the guide heading to Caves). And you are supposed to watch all the FMV's and stuff, don't skip anything.

I will keep an updated list of your records on this first post once they start coming.

I am a PS player.
Congratulations on the death thing. (Where you died, thats where you slide down past the blade and jump over a pit with a boulder behind you?)I've never taken much notice of how many times I die. Sometimes I do it on purpose to finish off a session! I suppose I would die in game 5 or 6 times? Dunno.
I'm never in a hurry to finish so my times aren't fast. I usually do it with no health packs so I take my time to get it right. I suppose i would generally take around 9 to 10 Hrs?
I might do it next time and see how little ammo I can use (still no health packs though)

Thanks. Yeah, that's the place. I forgot how to jump over the pit so I jumped too early and ended up hanging from the edge over the pit and before I managed to get myself up the boulder crushed me. Too bad.

Your idea of using no health packs is very interesting. I should try it myself! I once completed the game by only using pistols as my weapons, it was fun, heh...

I played 2 "speed games" a few years back and posted a 4:30.38 time
on my second attempt. I write down all my stats but never considered keeping track of how many times I died. Hmm, maybe I'll have to get on board
of that speed game wagon again.
I also did a couple of speed games on tr2. Best time at 6:49.21.

I would be proud of myself if I got to the 2nd to last save point in The Great Pyramid without dying. I've always wanted to be able to play the whole game without dying.

You should be able to, slide down the slope with the boulder rolling behind you, once you reach the tip of the ledge jump and you dont need to hang on the ledge. You will (Somehow) land on the ledge.

Yes but if you jump too early (as Karri did) and catch the end you won't have time to pull up, then SQUISH

Yeah I remembered again when it crushed me ;)

Actually you know, we should just list everything by the Time Taken clock. And then calculate the total time from that. Because if a person takes the time him/herself, the results are always a little bit off. The game's clock never lies though. Or at least it lies the same way to everyone :D
