right now Eidos shows "Lego Star Wars II: The original trilogy" on Gamespot's On The Spot show. episode 6 will be next week.

Funny idea though!

Since I enjoyed Lego Star Wars so much, I'd love a Lego TR game! Only as an offshoot game, not a real TR addition!!
And she'd have to have all the right moves aswell :D
I think a Lego Tomb Raider would be lots of fun. :p At least it'd have blocks of sorts in it. :D

If a Lego version of Tomb Raider was as faithful to the original series as Lego Star Wars was, I reckon it would be a blast. Just imagine the death animation after a long fall, we'd see Lego Lara smashing into pieces :D

The Lego Star Wars game was one of the best ideas ever come to fruition. Can't wait for the second one to come out next montg. Giving Lara the Lego treatment would be fantastic as well.

I'd love a lego version. At least this way you would expect it to be leanier so nobody could complain about that. Lego star wars is actually less leanier than legend. Its harder to get all minikit parts than it is to get all secrets in legend lol.

though i dont like the Tomb Raider lego idea ;)
TR is becoming less and less unique with every game brought out. Lego : Tomb Raider would comfirm it for me. Its 'just another game', even if it is a small game, why waste time on it ? Wouldn't like the idea, even though I did quite like Lego Star Wars 2, PSP. :)

It'd be pretty cool - but I can't see it happening. LEGO would have to obtain licence for Tomb Raider toys first, then (if the toys sell well), they'd make a video game.
Oh, and LEGO's next video game is going to be based on Batman! I can't wait for that!

Would it be mean if I said that Tomb Raider isn't as cool as Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Batman? At least I think there is less potential for making Tomb Raider cute, which is what the great Lego Star Wars games are all about. So I'd say no, thank you.

I'd have to agree. LEGO is also a toy aimed at kids, and I doubt most of them play Tomb Raider. Star Wars, Batman and Indie can be adapted to suit younger audiences, Lara however will always be the chick with the guns and at the moment LEGO disapprove of any realistic looking weapons (which is why on the Star Wars sets and games, the characters always wield megaphone shaped laser-guns).
Still I'm not gonna say we'll never see LEGO Tomb Raider, there were rumours of Halo LEGO not long ago, so maybe we'll get TR LEGO when (if) the new film comes out, just I can't see it happening at anytime soon. Maybe Art Asylum or Mega Bloks (LEGO's competitors) will make TR toy line - I mean, Art Asylum have already made Witchblade.
I can't wait for Lego Indiana Jones - that's probably as close to lego TR we'll ever get.

Yeah, it'll be great! Maybe they'll have one of those Mix and Match features where you can create your own LEGO figure and use it in the game. They had that on the second LEGO Star Wars game, so me and my brother created Lara Croft! She looked pretty crappy, but it's better than nothing I suppose!

Too bad there isn't a release date, though. :(
Actually, I'm quite positive the idea would work, if we go by the LEGO Star Wars theme, the cantina would be Lara's home, the exit would be at the gates, several tunnels, leading to each episode, which would be each game, and each part of the episode would be a level. :) If we then did all 8 games (Not including Anniversary.) we'd get a full length game. Each level would have to be drastically shortened though. :o Perhaps we could even have two tunnels for the movies. :p

Nice idea! Maybe you could select which mission you want to go on in Lara's "trophy room" where she stores all of her ancient artifacts in glass cabinets. When you walk up to one, we flash back to the adventure she had discovering it and the mission starts.
I think probably the Indiana Jones game will begin in the school he lectures at, and the Batman game will start in the Bat-Cave, so having the TR game start at Croft Manor makes sense!
Oh, and a bit off subject but I also think a LEGO: Spider-Man videogame would be great as well!

I'm not sure.... I always thought of Lego as something for children, and Tomb Raider is not. Maybe if it was watered down and made more appropriate (Like the removal of Nazi references from Indiana Jones). But still, I can't help but think it would loose some credibility for it.

There are some people who make Lego replicas of their favorite video game and movie characters. That's cool and clever, I guess, but not enough that I would want to spend hours staring at this ill-concieved gimic. I hope to God no one ever makes a CGI Lego movie of anything.

:D
Because I really enjoyed the Lego games having played both the starwars and the indy one. yes they are very samey and I figure the batman would be too but they are great fun and a pleasant way to while away a few hours whilst waiting TRU etc to be released. They wouldn't do a TR game as no way would it be commercial enough!

They are actually very brillaint games. I admit it was to my suprise.
Honestly though its a bit bad to say anyone who gets enjoyment out of lego games is a "moron".
Edit: sorry double post
Edit2: XD i just realised the irony of that!
The fact that idiotic games such as these sell is a sign that today's gamers are morons.
No. It is a sign that those games are not idiotic .
And the fact that you posted such an idiotic comment is a sign that you have NEVER played one of these games.
I LOVE Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones, even if that makes me a moron. Heaven forbid I get a kick out a little nostalgia and silly fun in my games.
But I don't think that Tomb Raider would work well for this subgenre. The thing that made Lego Star Wars so successful is that there are so many memorable scenes in the films (referring specifically to the original triology, since that's what I played) that they can be recreated in the Lego world in a manner that's lighthearted and silly, but still completely recognizable.
And even though I like Indy more, I'm not sure they were as successful as Star Wars in the Lego games for that very reason.
Tomb Raider definitely wouldn't be able to pull it off because none of the plots are as detailed because they are games, not movies. Although we all have some favorite memories of specific Tomb Raider scenes, none of 'em have the same long-lasting effect that Star Wars or Indy or Batman can have.
Besides, a Lego Tomb Raider would almost be redundant - there's still puzzle-solving and artifact-finding in the Lego games. Why do we need to have the same thing but in Lego graphics?
The fact that idiotic games such as these sell is a sign that today's gamers are morons.
Are you kidding me? Some of the achievements on the 360 version of Lego SW2 were ridiculously difficult. No child or "moron" would have to patience to unlock everything in those games. They are a lot more layered than you may think!!
LOL!
