And WOW, is it fast! It's fast even on my dial-up connection! Some things take a little longer to load, but other than that, it's working smoothly. Much better than AOL.

Is it true that it's safer than Internet Explorer too?

I´ve used Internet Explorer since the internet was invented, I just can´t get used to any other browser... :o

I´ve tried Firefox a few times, but it is unbelievably slow. No idea why. It doesn´t seem to like my PC.

I love Firefox. Glad to hear you've switched over. :tmb:

You can get extensions for Fx here:
http://addons.mozilla.org
They let Firefox do other things than what it can already do. I've got several installed, like a web developer tool that makes it easy to mess about with web coding, a colour picker tool so I can easily figure out colours in pictures on the web without opening Photoshop, a Flash blocker so Flash movies can't play if I don't want them to (I got that to stop having annoying Flash ads talking to me and being a pest), a basic ad blocker that blocks most common ads, and one that tells me what the weather's like outside. :D

One question... For the themes, if you download them, do they change your regular toolbar on your PC too? It looked like that on the preview of one of the black skins.

It'll only change Firefox, nothing else. The person in the screenshot was probably also using Windowblinds, or some other Windows-GUI-altering program.

A Firefox appreciation thread, and no one’s mentioned the search box yet!?

This is a very cool function: you can add on any number of search engines – a few like Google and Yahoo are default – and search directly a site directly from the search bar. I have got dozens of extra engines added on, including Wikipedia (a must!) and several dictionaries (I need them for work).

And of course, there’s all the cool themes (skins). Blah, who can stand staring at that boring IE window :( if you can use a gorgeously coloured Firefox one instead? :jmp:

Thats exactly true!! Microsoft always copy other companies, (e.g. Mozilla, Google, Apple...) They are lame and can't think up any ideas for themselves

I only use Firefox nowadays, and I've never looked back. Another couple of excellent plug-ins for Firefox that I highly recommend are Fasterfox and IE Tab. Fasterfox optimises your broadband connection and can cache the links on the page you are viewing so that they load faster when you click on them. IE Tab is a plug-in that can be used as a workaround for sites that are designed to be viewed in IE. Click on the icon and it instantly switches between the two rendering engines, effectively giving you the best of both Firefox and IE. Oh, and don't forget FoxyTunes, which lets you access Media Player (or whatever music manager you use) directly from within the Firefox window :tmb:

Well, it's a fair bit safer than IE. Many viruses/spyware etc. are designed to work in IE, and so Firefox is at less risk from them. It also comes with pretty good built-in ad blockers. Generally it runs and loads pages a bit quicker than IE, although this depends on your connection and PC. And the plug-ins available for it mean that you can add a whole bunch of cool and useful features too :D
