Whats your opinion on the game bully? Personally I think it will be great. It doesn't seem like it will be overly violent like some ppl think so thats good and it does look really fun. After peeking at the gamespot bully board it makes me really angry at some ppl over there. Some ppl are saying "its not violent enough", "I want to be able to hurt little kids not just teens" "There's no blood in the game" "I hope jack thompson commits suicide" Jack thompsons an :cen:" Many other childish things were said that I dare not repeat. It makes me sick that ppl like that would buy that sort of game. People like that buying this game I would be concerned about. In that respect I wouldn't want the game released if those ppl are buying it. I want to buy it because it looks like a good game, not because I'm some sicko who has some compulsion to beat up little kids. Whats your opinion on this?
Will Bully be realesed in USA?
BTW: I think i will get it;)
I've never heard of this game...it doesn't sound appealing to me

I think your the one that gets bullied but I'm not really sure. I think you can take two paths. Either you be the bully or help out the geeks and protect them and yourselves from the bullies. You can skateboard, play sports and do all sorts of cool things. I think the game is mission based.

Oh, so it's actually kind of a teenage life simulation?

You could check out the bully trailer if you want. Other cool features are obvious bully things like swirlys and wedgies. These are shown in the trailer.
It looks really good.

I haven't got a clue von croy. I imagine it would probably be around about the same time as america.
In this game you get a wardrobe for changing clothes, clothes shop in the town, tattoo parlours, hair dressers, ability to make weapons like an M80 (thats a firecracker btw), soccer and dodgeball mini games, arcade machines and pool tables, go-karts and paper boy mini game. The town of Bullworth and its academy is so large. The trailer looks as tho you can have girlfriends as well. All this sounds pretty cool.
Yea, this game looks good indeed, although it did vanished in to fine air, and the release date was never confirmed...until now lol.
I remember seeing the game in the tabloid papers here, from what they were saying it sounded like it was going to be banned! I haven't heard much about it either, but then again I haven't been keeping an eye on it.

Just from the name of the game ppl presumed it was going to be GTA in schools. Even alot of gamers think this. They are in for a shock. Just because its made by rockstar and its called bully ppl presume its going to be a sick overly violent game. Thats why ppl tried to ban it. There are alot of very sick gamers out there that now realise its not going to be the sick game they thought and now they're disappointed. Just browse the gamespot bully board to see what I mean. Its not going to be anything like that and I think thats a good thing. It looks like its going to be a very good game.

From the first day I saw screenshots of the game I've been interested. I'm really looking forward to going around the school grounds, playing sports, giving people swirlies and lots of other things.
Looks like fun. What console is it coming out on?
PS2 and Xbox I think.
So to get what Bully is actually about, you could basically say it's promoting Anti-Bullying? Just asking cos I'm part of an Anti-Bullying Council and it'd be nice to be able to show some people that games also tackle the subject :)

The concept sounds interesting, but the graphics are horribly outdated. The characters look less detailed than GTA SA's.

I've noticed that too. I'm never bothered about graphics with any game. For me graphics are the LEAST important thing about a game. I mean graphics in GTA are pretty bad if I'm honest but its my favourite game series.

btw Bully has only been announced for the PS2 thus far. and i'm looking soo forward to it. While the graphics may suffer, supposedly, each student has their own unique personality and things you do for them. I read an article about it in US OPM.

Same here. I just noticed it when watching the trailer, maybe it doesn't matter at all when you can play the game yourself.

Usually I would agree with this statement, but now that the 360 is out and the PS3 is right around the corner I can't help but look at a game like Bully and wonder why it isn't next-gen? Graphics can and do make good games better. Take this game and make it next-gen and it would absolutely be better. I'll probably play it and like it but I'll always think of what could have been.

Well its coming out this october. If it was next gen it would be for the 360. Its not even coming for the xbox so I would never have expected it for the 360. There will still be loads of current gen titles only coming out for quite a while even as we move into next gen. PS1 games were being created even a couple years after the PS2 came out. Graphics dont make a good game. Graphics do make an already good game better. If it was for 360 the only thing improved would be graphics. Next gen only titles would improve on many other things as well as graphics so if it was coming for PS2 and 360there's not really much difference between the two versions other than graphics.

True... many 360 games have been hampered by simultaneous development on the PS2 and Xbox. 360 only games have been better (COD2, Dead Rising, Full Auto, the upcoming Gears Of War). I can think of so many gameplay elements that could be added to Bully with the greater processing power, aside from graphics upgrades. Perhaps there will be a Bully 2, though.
If there is a bully 2 it will probably be for PS3 and Xbox 360 or maybe even just PS3. A game like bully for next gen only would rule with the power of the PS3.

I am not particularly interested by this game but I took a peek at the screenshots and I think the graphics are due to style choice. The characters have a very peculiar chunky look that works quite well.

I might have know it was because of the whiners and complainers... now they not only have problems with game content but game names!? I'm going on record right now and say that Rockstar are WIMPS. They had the chance to stand up for themselves multiple times and have cracked every time. Just make a tele-tubbies game, Rockstar, and call it a day.

Possibly because it is more subtle, it definately looks like they don't want to push any boundaries.

It's probably a hint to the usual maxims on the high school crests, which are often written in Latin. But I agree that Dog Eat Dog would've looked better. Then again it would be fun to hear people trying to pronounce the Latin equivalent. :mis:

The game cover is like a high school crest written in Latin but we don't have those from where I come from.....I can see a lot of people scratching their heads going what the hell is "Canis Canem Edit" lol ...not much of a selling point imo.
I dont know why, but for some reason this game doesn't appeal to me as much any more. I know its just the name changed but the new name is just terrible. Why change the name?

Perhaps the game has been renamed "Bullworth Academy" and the Canis Canem Edit part might just be the school motto, like in the Harry Potter books. The Hogwarts logo has a latin motto on it.

As I said, Rockstar are WIMPS. They had the power to change the videogame landscape and didn't take it with the San Andreas controversy. I would have said:
"Our next GTA game will have "hot coffee" in it--and much more, right in the off-the-shelf-version. We are already targeting an adult audience so we don't fear the AO rating. We will sell the game via the internet if necessary."
In short, I would have forced the issue. A game like that based on an already immensely popular series would still have sold millions of copies. Wal Mart would not stock it--but the Videogame shops would have a hard decision to make. Stock it, or not? Either way the bar would be raised on this whole content issue, and videogames may finally be percieved as they should: for adults as well as children--and the 2 don't have to be catered to in every game.

It's only controversial because whiners feel the need to complain about every little thing. Haven't you noticed that the definition of "what is controversial" gets more broad every year? So many people are so hyper-sensitive these days, it's crazy. And Rockstar should not have caved in and changed the name... plus, I'll bet there's things they wanted to put in there but haven't because of the heat they've taken in the past.
I like the new name. There's not many games released in English-speaking territories with foreign languages as their title. It gives it some class IMO. Plus Latin is a cool language - all hail Latin *bows*

"Kah-nis Kah-nem Ee-dit" (like the English word "to edit", but with a long "E").
"Kaynis Kaynem Ii-dit" ("I" like in "idiot", but long) would be correct too, but Anglicized.

Only that one site says it's true, GameSpot still has it as Bully, as does the official rockstar site.
It is true. And it does say it on gamespot btw. There's only a name change in europe and australia. Its still bully in the USA.

Since I don't go to School anymore (Was old enough to leave in October 2002, plus got bullied so did I want to stay? Hell no lol) This game is ideal for me to defend myself lol.
Bully is a clever game and would be good with violence and beating people up PROPERLY, even kids.

in my opinion bully is a game made to make you fell relaxed when stressed, if you are really stressed and annoyed from anything, i think bully is something used to relax on, by bullying other people (BUT NOT IN REALITY, just in the game) it may release all your stressness out, onto which will calm you down and make you fell better/ relaxed. Therefore no one gets hurt.
Also, the morew annying the game is, with more annoying kids, the more pressure you will release. And also remember...... its jst a game.
oh, that isnt an exeption to nerds hehe lol, that also really wot the games for,,
