I've been getting bored with just drawing characters posing, so I've been doodling different things recently... some have been complete disatasters, and others only marginal distasters. This is the least disasterous of the marginal disasters. It's also given me some more horse-drawing practise ;)

Sooo.... an elven knight charging off into battle. With one orc. :o

This isa big A3 pic, so I had to join the two halves up - not a problem if I get round to painting this, but a problem for the sketch, cos I always end up with a dark join line (I've tried to get rid of as much of it as possible).

A couple of hours worth of sketching, I suppose... did it whilst watching some bloody awful melodramatic Western on Five this afternoon but was forced to watch it due to an extremely buff Indian, proving that yes, give me a pretty male with long black hair to stare at and I'll watch near enough anything...

That's a fully horned horse :D!

I do really like the horse,it seems a bit reptilian, and its mouvement looks rather fluid.

The orc is really disgusting and he needed a leg shaving, quickly!

The elf has a beautiful hair, but perhaps he could have a bit more detail on his expression..it seems a bit void.

Yeah - his face was hard 'cos it's actually very small (and there were meant to be more orcs, but I got bored as the buff Indian bloke wasn't parading around without his shirt on anymore... :o) - I wanted him to look determined. I tried to draw him with his mouth open, as if he was yelling, but the less said about that the better... It's something I'll remedy when I paint it, methinks ;)

the horse isnt reptilian, it's just the armour pipolinne....I think. Well it looks like the Elven horse armour from Oblivion a little

That's a great sketch though :tmb:

I dont understand why the rider holds the sword in the side furthest from the enemy though :P and maybe he should look at the enemy too, doesn't he care for the horse's welfare!

I just saw that on Deviant Art a minute ago, and it blew me away then! Fantastic drawing! :tmb:
I used to be able to draw horses, it used to be all I drew! But I'm afraid I've lost that ablility now...
I really love your fantasy style art, it's fantastic! Keep them coming! :D

Elysia your work, as always, is fantastic! :tmb:  Get that orc a razor quick! :yik: :vlol:

Have you by chance come across Warhammer before? Your elf armour is very similar to Games Workshop's art :tmb:

TM, I wasn't criticizing when I said the horse looked reptilian to me. It does, and I think ,for me,that adds more interest to the drawing, suggesting, like the elf is different from humans, the horse is different from normal horses :).

  thanks again, everyone! :D

Since I was a kid. I wasn't allowed to take art lessons, but that didn't stop me... :D

;) Of course I know Warhammer! :D I take a lot of influence from roleplaying in general; a lot of my stuff is mainly Wizards of the Coast influenced because it is one of my dreams to draw for them, and I think they share a few artists with Games Workshop, so it's inevitable that there are some similarities. :)

:tmb: Yep - you take from it what you will! It's what art is all about - your own interpretation. :) (That and the way I basically construct my horses and dragons are very similar... :o)

Cool :D. I can't play to save my life, but I love converting/sculpting/painting the minatures :D. My favourites are Wood Elves, and I'm so pleased the studio has taken them away from the 'Fairy-Tinkerbell meets Robin Hood and his Merry Pixies' look . In fact, the braiding in your elf's hair reminds me of the Wood Elves.......:tmb:

My husband used to like painting the figures (until our DM went over to little card counters... kind of a shame - I used to like having little pewter characters!). This guy (http://www.toddlockwood.com/) is my total hero, though... if I can be just 1/8 as good as him, I'll be a happy bunny!
