View Full Version : Unreachable large medi pack.
I'm not sure if it's because of the version I'm using but I've noticed a large medi pack in Palace Midas which I can't reach! Its on top of a pillar/obelisk structure to the left of the five switches. If you look around, you can see if glitch through the surface but no way can I reach it!
No, it's not because of the version you are using. This medipack is unreachable on all versions. It belongs to a series of unreachable medipacks that you can find in TRs 1-3. There is one more in TR2/Temple of Xian (located on an unreachable alcove) and another one in TR3/Coastal Village (located in a hut that's actually a quicksand trap).
You can get the one in Palace Midas if you do the corner jump though.
As mentioned, you can get the one in Midas Palace using the corner bug.
You can't get the one in TR2 Temple of Xian unless you use a savegame editor to change Lara's position (I did this in one of my savegames). The issue is that the ladder next to the ledge out side the room is just scenery and can't be grabbed by Lara.
You can't get the one at the back of the hut in TR3 Coastal Village, even with a savegame editor, or at least you can't get Lara to that spot without her sinking, but it may be possible to edit a savegame to remove that medkit and add one to Lara's inventory, but that's not the same thing.
I don't remember if TR2 Gold - Golden Mask or TR3 Gold - Lost artifact had any unreachable medkits. I'm pretty sure that TR4 and later didn't.
Ah right, and what would be this corner bug? I've tried quite a few things.
why in the heck would they put unreachable medipacks in the game?

The first search result at Google gave me this:

:)
The video used to make that GIF file. Shows the collapsing tile bug, corner bug, and the drop back bug (hop back with action, but release action before grab, and Lara moves forwards as she falls). All done in St Francis Folly from TR1:

They were supposed to be obtainable, but then the routes got cut off and sealed off. I called core on the TR1 one. They said there was supposed to be a route behind the switches but it was too glitchy so they closed it. If you have an old gameshark there were codes for moon jump to reach high areas, that's how I got the ones in TR2 and 3... :D Used the corner bug on the TR1 one.

Useful bugs open up a whole world of shortcuts and new spots you can get to. Here's a good introduction: http://www.tombraiders.net/stella/goodbugs.html . But you have to use them awhile to discover a lot of nuances that make the bugs easier and more useful.
IMO, you cheat yourself out of some good gameplay if you go straight to bugs the first time through. But that's up to you.
I remember trying to reach that! I just game up because I couldn't find away around, and I kept slipping off the sides.

Teasing :p
I'll keep trying, still no luck though!
