View Full Version : Too much spare cash for my own good

I've got £240 / $460 in spare cash (most of which I earned by working with my dad for a while). I could buy an Xbox 360, upgrade my computer's graphics card, get a nice big new monitor, buy a load of funky new clothes, or save it. I don't know what to do, because that's the most spare cash I've ever had. :p

Anyone advise me? http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/4869/toiletip3.gif

I've got a bit of spare cash as well and I'm putting it in my saving. I'm going to buy a PS3 and a car, in that order. :p

As for you, I'm not sure what advice to give. Saving it is always smart, but if you want to buy something now, then by george, buy something now. :D WHatever makes you happy. :)

That would probably be the smart thing to do, but if you're like me, I have to spend money all the time :D

Extra money is simply more money that needs to be spent, lol :p

Yes. Give it to me. I don't have money and I want stuff.

Thank you :)

I'm liking the idea of saving it though I do want to upgrade my puter's graphics card, but I don't know how long AGP will still be supported? Or if great cards will drop in price in a few months.

Shh. That's the normal state of affairs for me. >_> This isn't like Christmas come early, because I never get even half this much at Christmas. :cln:

@ lol at kamrusepas.... that's probably the best advice :D

anyway, my advice would be: buy everything! :jmp: start with the first thing on your list, and go from there... keep saving up, buy something, then save up again :tea: and please dont complain about having too much money for your own good, because that's just cruel :D

i hate it when that happens. you buy something for 10 and a few weeks later its half price. i would wait for a month and see if anything else takes your fancy... then spend it all!! before the shops put up their prices for xmas! :)

Keep saving untill you have double the ammount then buy the thing that you wanted when you had that money and if you regret it you will still have some money :p

Save it and see just how much you can build upon it.

Do what I did the last time I had a lump amount of spare cash - save half and spend half :D That way you get the best of both worlds ;)

Save it and either put it into a building society account with a good rate of interest (the boring option) or buy premium bonds with it (less boring). You could win a fortune from your premium bonds, but if not you still can't lose anything because your stake is always refundable in full.

I often have the same problem.
Lots of money and nothing to spend them on...

Go look around shops for clothes, games, films, music or something, and if you can´t find anything you really want: Save it. :)

I can as well, i want to get a guitar thats about 1 one and a half grand so that would help!

Seriously though save it, if your in the UK the PS3 aint out 'till march so save your xmas money as well and you'll be able to get one no probs.

If I do end up saving all that money past Christmas, I'm not gonna buy a PS3 with it. :whi: It's insulting how much cash they're asking for it simply because it's got a brand new kind of disk reader. >_>

I'll put the cash aside and hang onto it. Maybe I'll get a 360 after Christmas; I do fancy having one because there are a lot of good games coming out on it. Dead Rising, 800 zombies on-screen at once is almost irresistable.

(This is when I wish I'd paid a little more attention to the next-gen hype. :D )

Well, I'd tell you to save it, but that's no fun. :p Spend it! Live a little. Or save it wait till you have more, that way you can save as much as you want and then maybe buy a little something. ;)

Or you can give it to me. I'm broke as a joke.

If you don't know what to do with it, save it until you do.
(I'll look after it for you till then. You can trust me http://bestsmileys.com/angles/5.gif http://bestsmileys.com/angles/3.gif ) http://bestsmileys.com/signs1/1.gif

It wouldn't be logical to spend the money for something you do not necessary need. So save it! until you find something you really need.

In case you are unable to do so, just send it to DREWY or me. We are very capable! :D ;)

i have too many damned clothes too!! i have so many - i only get a round to wearing each garment approx twice a year. i dont need anything.

you know in forrest gump how he says 'my mamma says theres only so much fortune a man (or indeed woman) needs, the rest is just for showing off?' thats kinda true. i have all i need, so id only be showing off, or being greedy if i got more 'stuff'.

i could donate it to charity...

I just found these...

And I SO want a pair. Been in love with cyber goggles since I saw them in London a couple of years ago. But for £42 pounds... Yikes! They're handmade, though... http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4928/anxiousns1.gif

Purely decorational and for fun. :p

Some people would go out clubbing with them (you can have UV-reactive colours in the lenses and silicon parts) but I'm not a clubber; I'd just wear 'em for fun because they look so badass.
