I also read that the tilt feature of the control will be used for this. For example, when a monster grabs on to your character, you have to shake the controller to get them off. That sounds so cool! :D

Interesting article I found on gametrailers:

Ever since Insomniac revealed that its PS3 launch title, Resistance: Fall of Man, took up over 20GB of space on a Blu Ray (http://ps3land.com/article-656.php#) disc, message boards have been rife with theories as to why this much space is required.

Today, through IGN's blog service, Ted Price from Insomniac appreciated the debate surrounding the news, and offered an explanation.

"Consider that even with compression, each of our 'levels' (or loaded areas) has more than 300 megs of unique data. And keep in mind that we’re also streaming data during level playthroughs. It doesn't take too much level data before you've gone past what can be stored on a dual-layer DVD. And between single player and multiplayer we have a lot of level data (over 40 different large loaded areas) – yes, more than will fit on a dual layer DVD."

Earlier this year, Phil Harrison suggested that Blu-ray's capacity could also be used to ship different languages for a game on one disc, thereby removing the need to press separate versions for each territory. Ted Price seems to echo this message:

"We also include a lot of data in the form of game movies in both HD and PAL formats, high quality audio (http://ps3land.com/article-656.php#) streams for all supported languages and some of those Insomniac “extras” that our fans have come to expect."

Blu-ray discs can either hold 25GB on a single layer, or 50GB on dual layer. Whilst Microsoft is releasing an optional HD-DVD addon for Xbox 360, it will not be used for games. The PS3, however, will be able to play Blu-ray games and movies. H (http://ps3land.com/article-656.php#)D-DVD and Blu-ray are competing next generation DVD formats. In fact, unlike the PS2 where early games were shipped on CDs, with the PS3 all games will be on Blu-ray discs from launch. Aside from the benefits of extra capacity, Sony also hopes that Blu-ray's copy protection features will reduce piracy.

It looks real good. My kind of game. I hope they'll have it for PC.

20GB on Blue Ray disk, hmmm... if they would make it for PC it would take 5 DVDs.

This game will rule! Insomniac are perhaps the best Devs in Sonys' corner, and I've always enjoyed their games. Whether this game will prove Blu-Ray superiority is another thing though, but obviously Sony is hoping this game will do just that... that's why they always say how much space it "needs". Direct comparisons will be made between this game and Gears Of War, I'm sure. How big the game areas are, how good they look, etc. If Gears can't match up, Sony will have a big victory for their Blu-Ray claims. If Gears does match up, skepticism about Blu Rays' advantages will remain.

Right now I have to say that Resistance is the BEST LOOKING game I've seen for a console... the crisp and clear nature of those highly detailed screens is most impressive. :jmp:

The makers of Spyro and Ratchet and Clank are about to unleash this monster of a game. I can't wait, although I still love Ratchet and Clank games.

They're still making Ratchet and Clank games too Dazzy. :) Fortunately. :jmp:

I know, but Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters isn't being made by the same team! Although they are some people from Insomniac who are working on the PSP game. Also there hasn't been much leaked about the next Ratchet and Clank game for the PS3, only a movie.

Well there may not be much info on the PS3 R&C, but they're still making it. That's good enough for me. :)

Nice to see another R&C fan by the way. Which game was your favorite? I like Up Your Arsenal the best, then probably Deadlocked. Going Commando was my least favorite, but I still really enjoyed it.

I like the Jak and Daxter series better though, but still, R&C is awesome! :jmp:

It is good to see Ratchet and Clank fans about, so glad you are one. My favorite has to be Ratchet and Clank 3, the weapons are brilliant, and once they are fully powered up by the levels, all hell breaks loose lol.

Oh yes, looks like we both have the same favorite R&C game. :jmp:

Yep, so we do, it's a great game. The Qwark 2D Levels are brilliant.

Haha! Yeah I love those! :vlol:

I also liked Qwarks maps he made for his plans. I can't remember which game that was on though, but it was funny! He drew everything with crayon. :vlol:

Man, I need to beat that series again, it's been too long.

That was on Ratchet and Clank 3, Qwark would draw plans and explain how Ratchet and Clank would get in to certain bases, like the Raw Sewage, and Ratchet would yell "WHAAAAT?"
